Use of ‘digital badges’ in schools would motivate students, research shows - University at Buffalo

Use of ‘digital badges’ in schools would motivate students, research shows - University at Buffalo | Open Badges, badges, badges, badges.... | Scoop.it

Enjoyed reading this article as it sets out the rationale for digital badges and summarises research. Not an actual "evidence" study so no statistics as such.

Key ingredients:

"They have to present some enjoyment for the learner, they must recognize work that extends beyond a student’s typical academic ability and the student has to value what that badge represents."

Badge List - Digital credentials for organizations

Badge List - Digital credentials for organizations | Open Badges, badges, badges, badges.... | Scoop.it

This looks a particularly useful Badge creation/awarding site especially as you can made groups private. The cost for schools is very reasonable indeed $25 per year per teacher and unlimited students.

The card layout is pleasing on the eye and I like how you can indicate what needs to be done to earn the badge.

Just need to find a suitable displayer.
