School Libraries and librarians have a significant roll to play. Many of us realise the importance to stocking non-curriculum based stock as we want students in our libraries. Delete the scoop?

I agree - and hope the Joy of Reading Program (Lukuinto-ohjelma) in Finland will make a good effort on developing learning commons for reading!

School libraries have a very definite role to inspire imagination and facilitate learning and research. Times are changing and so are library resources but school libraries and librarians still need to be there to teach and enhance independent learning.

Talking to kids about creating their positive presence on the web is important. It's not only what they post, but what they don't post that is important, especialy as they get to high school. Have them create an e-folio and know what is needed to keep their digital image clear and positibe.
