Guide for Moderators
(PDF download): This document outlines the steps and process for a moderator to
convene a discussion on privacy in your school. This PDF contains the information necessary for moderators of a forum on privacy.
Guide for Participants
(PDF download): This document can be distributed to students, faculty or parents
for a discussion on privacy. It provides an overview of the deliberative process and outlines the privacy issues to be considered.
In addition, school librarians attending the ALA Annual Meeting in Anaheim,
CA can learn how to convene forums and moderate community discussions about
privacy at the preconference sponsored by the ALA Center for Civic Life and
the Intellectual Freedom Roundtable. "Who Do I Trust to Protect My Privacy?
A Privacy Conversation Deliberative Forum and Moderator Training" will
take place on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Anaheim
Convention Center Room 303C. To register, sign in to the ALA Conference
