3 Powerful Web Tools to Create Whiteboard Animation Videos for Your Class ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

3 Powerful Web Tools to Create Whiteboard Animation Videos for Your Class ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | School & Learning Today | Scoop.it
Whiteboard animation videos are videos that draw themselves. They involve an animated use of images, shapes, characters, sounds and voice-overs to create a clip. This form of video production has been very popular recently and is widely used by some leading educational YouTube channels such as TED Ed and RSA Animate. Creating a whiteboard animation video is no longer a graphic designer's job. There are actually several web tools that allow you to easily put together an animated video with as simple tools as drag and drop. As a teacher, you can  use these animations to create and share tutorials,  presentations, step by tsp guides, and many more. Below are three  of my favourite tools I would recommend for you:

Teaching and the University of Tomorrow

Teaching and the University of Tomorrow | School & Learning Today | Scoop.it

"Last week, I attended the De Lange Conference held at Rice University every other year, this time on “Teaching in the University of Tomorrow.” The future-oriented theme had both intrigued me, and left me a little skeptical. But ultimately I was won over by the chance to attend, for the first time, a conference exclusively focused on teaching. I would be able to talk shop about learning and pedagogy. Like many other academics, I’m concerned about what the university of tomorrow might become."

A Simple Technique You Can (and Should) Apply To Your eLearning Courses | School & Learning Today | Scoop.it

"It’s easy for an eLearner to “zone out” when faced with complex course content, especially with limited existing knowledge of a topic. The instructional design challenge is how to explain complex content easily. Start by considering some premises fundamental to eLearning design."

As we increasingly move towards designing our own eLearning content - it is essential to consider the delivery of that content - the tools are a means to an end - if the design quality is poor then the usefulness of those tools is greatly diminished.

Manufacturing Engineering - SME Speaks: Supporting the T&E in STEM

Manufacturing Engineering - SME Speaks: Supporting the T&E in STEM | School & Learning Today | Scoop.it

In the last 10 years, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) has garnered a lot of attention without debate on the application of that knowledge; lately, even the White House has thrown itself into the mix with its plan to invest $2.9 billion in 2015 to better equip students to excel in STEM. There’s no doubt that a STEM education deserves the spotlight because, according to a recent study by the US Department of Commerce, STEM-related jobs are projected to grow by 17% by 2018, compared with 9.8% for non-STEM professions. What’s often overlooked, however, are the middle two letters of STEM, which are technology (the study of the human-made world) and engineering (the application of the design process). “Furthermore, the T&E of STEM is often left out of the educational equation and educators miss critical opportunities to purposefully embed scientific inquiry and applied mathematics in the context of technological designing and problem solving. ...Read More....

It is  much easier to access paper material or material that you can create yourself without the complications of machine equipment, which can be inaccessible.

An important part of learning and using your brain is the ability to be flexible. It will take time to make e text books flexible enough for young people to use them creatively.
