Using Daily Planners Effectively

Using Daily Planners Effectively | Scheduling Those Hard To remember dates | Scoop.it
Many people use daily planners to organize their events, appointments and tasks. How well are you using yours?
Jeremiah 's insight:

My Thoughts:

I have fallen prey to the thing called “Back log” where nothing gets done and piles up. This article covers the topic of how to prevent and remove back log from your planner. They say to keep it down on a list, so that way you can chip away at the list to accomplish all the tasks set on your day planner. The article is a useful tool in how to setup and maintain the planner. Most people don’t use planners efficiently but this article helps cover the topic of what to add in your planner, how to maintain it, what events do you write down and how far in advance should you plan. With efficient use of the planner you will know what to do and when to do this activity. The better prepared I am the less stress and the more planning the better I am at accomplishing my goals!

Things To Put On Your Family Calendar | Cozi.com

Things To Put On Your Family Calendar | Cozi.com | Scheduling Those Hard To remember dates | Scoop.it
The paper calendar hanging on the wall may have worked for our mothers, but in the high-tech, high-pressure world families live in today, many are finding that computer based options are a better fit.
Jeremiah 's insight:

My Thoughts:

The article is a great display of information in a clearly categorized fashion. I recommend this article to anyone trying to create a calendar for a family. I used parts of this to further along my calendar and schedule dates in a more efficient manner. I took a lot of info from the work and social engagements section that lists off the different things to include for this topic. I took parts of it and included in my own calendar is birthdays, and anniversaries, Holiday events, and parties. Include days like Sports, after school activities such as clubs or other events to give you self a reminder to prepare the appropriate plan for the following day. A few things I personally would never even think of adding were dates of when you should change your batteries in your smoke alarm and, Vehicle tune-ups and inspections. This article added a lot more items to my list of things to put on my calendars.

Why I Use a Leather Day Planner Instead of a Smartphone

Why I Use a Leather Day Planner Instead of a Smartphone | Scheduling Those Hard To remember dates | Scoop.it
WorkAwesome's Melanie Brooks offers this follow-up to her dumbphone love post as she discusses her leather day planner as the tool that keeps her life in order.
Jeremiah 's insight:

My Thoughts:

I agree with this lady in many aspects of her analysis of the day planner. She says many people use the smart phones but in her opinion they are just so many benefits to using a paper planner. I use a paper planner because it gives me the ability to write down anything at any time with no storage capacity and specific features I have to fill in. I can write whatever I need to and whatever time. The lady says she doesn’t have to plug it in which I agree I do not need all the extra features a mobile device has nor the hassle of remembering to plug it in on a nightly bases.  In a world where we live so digital it wouldn’t hurt to take a step away from the screen and show off your penmanship with a little note or two on a paper wrapped in leather. I personally plan on going out and grabbing a day planner.
