Arriving at Yes: My Personal Journey

It was about a year and a half ago that I did something radical, something extraordinarily off-the-wall. I don't know what prompted me to do it, but do it I did.

Energy Justice

Energy Justice | SayYes2Scotland | Scoop.it

It’s 2016. The progressive green-left coalition is into its first term as the government of an independent Scotland. The seeds of change it promised are beginning to take root.

2016 is the year that the devolved governments of Scotland had set as a distant target for ending fuel poverty.

An excellent example of the kind of fresh thinking that the independence referendum is bringing to the fore.

Why Scottish independence gets my vote

Why Scottish independence gets my vote | SayYes2Scotland | Scoop.it

POSH lad George Osborne headed north of the Border this week to tell the Scots how lucky they are to be ruled by Westminster. That’s a bit like sending a Sunderland supporter into my native Newcastle to give a lecture in the hallowed grounds of St James’ Park about the finer points of the beautiful game!

Only a 'Yes' vote guarantees more powers for Scotland

Only a 'Yes' vote guarantees more powers for Scotland | SayYes2Scotland | Scoop.it

A majority of people in Scotland want the Scottish parliament to have full control over taxation, spending and social security.

Increasingly it appears that only a ‘Yes’ vote in 2014 can guarantee those powers for Scotland. Why? Because Westminster remains uninterested in further devolution.   Scotland should learn from history, Westminster is resistant to reform.

Yes volunteers' hard work is starting to pay off | SayYes2Scotland | Scoop.it

The shift in opinion that Yes campaigners have been reporting all summer, with people across Scotland moving from No to Undecided and from Undecided to Yes, has been confirmed by the latest Panelbase opinion poll, which has given Yes to independence a late summer lead.

Jim Arnott's insight:

I am finding that more and more Scots are getting fair skunnered with the constant bile, scaremongering, lies and deceptions from Scottish and Westminster politicians who support the Union. Folk are starting to ask where is the positive vision for the Union. It's just not there and is unlikely ever to be there.
