Highlight of the year, I was there !

Jim Arnott's insight:

This was definitely the highlight of my political year. It was the very first March I had ever on (and I'm 75 years young). The positivity was tremendous and the age range of supporters was amazing - I had great fun chatting and entertaining a bairn in his pram. This to me brought home to me what is most important point about Scottish independence - it's about the next generations. The speeches on the Hill were inspirational and I vowed to get off my backside and get out campaigning. I will still continue my social media efforts but I will automate these as much as possible to give me the time to go campaigning. I will, however, be mindful and respectful of my social media friends and will not neglect answering their tweets, posts and comments.

It is very encouraging to see the Yes message of a positive vision for an independent Scotland getting across to more and more Scots and for this to be starting to be reflected in the polls (no matter how poorly constructed the usually are). I hope that WingsoverScotland will get adequately funded to allow them to extend their quite excellent polling activities.

Treasury analysis shows £1.6 billion funding gap in Scottish independence White Paper - News stories - GOV.UK | SayYes2Scotland | Scoop.it
The transparent analysis, which is consistent with the Autumn Statement 2013 forecasts and Budget methodology, has been published in full.
Jim Arnott's insight:

The Westminster Treasury Paper is an utter horlicks. It takes no account of the impact Scottish policies might have on economic growth in an independent Scotland. The whole reason for a Yes vote is to ensure Scottish policies for an independent Scotland. A Yes vote is definitely not a vote for a continuation of Westminster policies. This is the whole point of independence - i.e. doing things differently and better.
