Are you eating celery for more than just as a snack with nut butter? Celery is a powerhouse veggie as it is an anti-inflammatory food. In ancient times celery was prized by traditional Chinese medicine as a treatment for high blood pressure. Recent studio show that people who eat more celery experience significant drops in blood pressure. Celery contains the compound, apigenin, which dilates blood vessels and reduces circulatory force of bloodstream. It's also high in essential nutrients.

Health Tips:  Celery as you can read is a good veggie to incorporate into your meals. Celery is a high water content veggie and high in fiber too so  you can eat as much as you want. It's also crunchy and fills you up so you're not as hungry.

5 Good Reasons to Avoid Refined Sugar

5 Good Reasons to Avoid Refined Sugar | Say No to Dieting | Scoop.it
Refined sugar is bad news for our health. If you’ve been wanting to cut back onsugar butneeded some good reasons, we’ve got you covered.

Sandi Cornez's curator insight, February 12, 2015 12:15 AM

Refined sugar and/or processed foods all need to be avoided. Refined means the nutrients have been stripped away and then manufacturers replace missing vitamins, minerals with others plus chemicals and additives.. Is this crazy or what? Eat real whole food that is unrefined.

Health Tips:  Swap out sugar, a neurotoxin that feeds cancer  with healthy organic raw dates, figs, bananas, pineapple, mango, berries or other fruits of your choice. You can also use coconut sugar, Grade B Maple syrup (a little as it's 50% fructose), and lucuma found in most healthy markets. Use these sparingly. If you do use organic cane sugar, use just 1/4 cup  and add some applesauce  or a banana to your recipe.

Here's "Good Reasons to Avoid Refined sugar" from Greenliving by Eat Drink Better.
