Barcelona is a city renowned for its art and architecture. This city is host to two of the world’s most famous artists, Pablo Picasso and Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi is the most famed architect of the Catalan Art movement which began at the end of the 19th century and his masterpieces are glittered all around the city. Amongst his most famous work is the unfinished Sagrada Famila. Gaudi was a deeply religious man and his work was influenced by the organic forms of nature, which he viewed as God’s work. The Sagrada Familia was his final masterpiece but remains unfinished due to the fact that it is a “Sinners Church”. This means it receives no private funding and construction is only continued through the finances of the “sinners” that visit it.
