Cartoon for my ETS 113 class
samantha kent's insight:

Evidence suggesting the iconic writer " William Shakespeare" was a homosexual. Regardless of public opinion Shakespear did write about a man in a romantic matter. Many of his sonnets (sonnet 20) were deticated to men.

I like how your common theme was all about perspective very much. My question to you though is how do you feel about this person's views on how society has changed on the viewing of relationships? Do you agree or disagree?

The history behind Titania

source

samantha kent's insight:

Titania is a latin word. it represents the titans. even though titania in the play is god of the moon, she is actually godess of red clouds or godess of the sun. oberon speaks of titania as godess of the moon in the play.

‘Ill met by moonlight, proud Titania’

I chose this picture because william shakespeare can be and  in modern day is interpretated in many differents ways. The different sqaures of art and color that make up Shakespeare's portrait represent the  various ideas andn theorys of who shakespeare really was.

Imagery and fairyland

Imagery and fairyland | Samantha Kent's A Midsummer Night's Dream | Scoop.it

realm of the fairies and humans

lit. crit

samantha kent's insight:

The fairy world was not just comedic, it can be taken in as evil corrupt or plain out creepy. A woman's husband techincally poisoning his wife then laying in bed with her a night after, is evil. A man turning to an ass decribes creepy. Love corrupted by mystical beings out of pure enjoyment seems the least bit whimisicle. "A MidSummer Nights Dream" is not just a love story told over time, but a chaotic and corrupt fairy ruled world.
