Harvard Business School professor Gerald Zaltman says that 95 percent of our purchase decision making takes place in the subconscious mind. But how does a marketer reach the subconscious? Zaltman explains in this Q&A.

This interview with Harvard Business School professor Gerald Zaltman explores reaching the subconscious mind of the customer.


The reason why this is so important is because all buying decisions are made from the emotional subconscious mind. A sales pitch that is very analytical will not reach that part of the mind. Unfortunately many sales people will make the mistake of appealing to the customers logic instead of their emotions.


The best way to reach the subconscious mind is still through hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I explore more of the ways on how to do that in my sales trainings.
