John Pilger: The West's chemical hypocrisy on Syria Via @Consensus911

John Pilger: The West's chemical hypocrisy on Syria Via @Consensus911 | Saif al Islam | Scoop.it

On my wall is the front page of the Daily Express of September 5, 1945, and the words: “I write this as a warning to the world.” So began Australian journalist Wilfred Burchett's report from Hiroshima. It was the scoop of the century.

For his lone, perilous journey that defied the US occupation authorities, Burchett was pilloried, not least by his embedded colleagues. He warned that an act of premeditated mass murder on an epic scale had launched a new era of terror.

Almost every day now, he is vindicated. The intrinsic criminality of the atomic bombing is borne out in the US National Archives and by the subsequent decades of militarism camouflaged as democracy.

The Syria psychodrama exemplifies this. Yet again, we are held hostage to the prospect of a terrorism whose nature and history even the most liberal critics still deny. The great unmentionable is that humanity's most dangerous enemy resides in Washington.

United States Secretary of State John Kerry's farce and President Barack Obama's pirouettes are temporary. Russia's peace deal over chemical weapons will, in time, be treated with the contempt that all militarists reserve for diplomacy.

Leah Lesley Christensen's curator insight, September 16, 2013 6:15 AM

I AGREE with the title although I do not have the time to read this very long article. However, the essence is that I completely agree that TRUTH is no longer accessible to any population on earth.

Only this week I have witnessed in Denmark

- how official parliamentary members in high positions change TRUTH about Afghanist and and MALI claiming great success as a reason to dismantle their condition in the EU that they do not co-operate on WAR effort

- how they obliterate knowledge about the affects of their austerity measures from their SELECTIVE MEMORY and fail to notice that homeless persons are dying on the streets

- how they essentially focus on NAZI strategies that target minorities. For example, despite all that is going in our countries and desperate needs of the population and even international affairs which are extremely important, our entire parliament has decided the most important issue on their agenda is to PROHIBIT BY LAW CIRCUMCISION and there is total agreement from extreme left to exteme right on these activities and decisions. Naturally, this will create a situation for all JEWS to leave the country because their religion is targetted and also afflicts other targetted minorities - MUSLIMS.

- how persons of specific "type" continue to go "missing" and only the day after i proliferated this information suddenly two persons of different "type" are suddenly found again - clearly a RED HERRING to hide TRUTH.

- how our MULTI NATIONALS have taken over our country. For example, MÆRSK owns a considerably majority of the food market in Denmark and certainly can more be considered an ologopolisk with almost monoply of share in the market, they also have the same position in our oil market and hold considerable shares in our Banks (Danish Bank alone, they own 10% of shares). This means they DICTATE the terms of our loans which are very UNFAIRLY genereous to large multi nationals and completely discriminating towards the individual with low income. These banks ensure that those who need to sell or buy are forced into bankruptcy by totally governmentally approved discriminations. More recently, similar unfair and dishonest tax evaluations of property has been disclosed.

Yes, I totally agree,

WE CANNOT TRUST OUR MEDIA

OR EXPECT TO BE PROVIDED WITH TRUTH

FROM ANY AUTHORITY !

Prince Unplugged: From Russia with Love

Prince Unplugged: From Russia with Love | Saif al Islam | Scoop.it
Its very rare for an American President to get out -shined in the international stage. It becomes rarest of rare when it is by a President of a state, which was  their bon noitre from the cold war times. There was never a time before when a leader of a foreign state reached out directly to the US Citizen, only to acclaim wide acceptance and meritorious discussion.
For a moment, my heart went out to Vladimir Putin in adoration and respect when I stumbled upon the article,in which he addresses the American Public in the op-ed page of The New York Times.

In Surprisingly Bold Move, Sweden Offers a Home to All Syrian Refugees

In Surprisingly Bold Move, Sweden Offers a Home to All Syrian Refugees | Saif al Islam | Scoop.it

Sweden has just offered a glimpse of light in a somberly dark tunnel for thousands of Syrian refugees displaced by violence and war. The Swedish government announced on September 3 that it would be granting permanent residency to any Syrian refugee seeking asylum that's already fled to Sweden.

This makes the Scandinavian nation the first and only country in the EU to have this kind of open-door policy for Syrians dealing with one of the worst sectarian bloodshed in modern history.

According to Annie Hoernblad, the spokesperson for the Migration Agency in Sweden, "The agency made this decision now because it believes the violence in Syria will not end in the near future."
