After getting situated with safely storing your firearms, you should talk to you family, especially your children, about weapon safety and how to never go near the gun safe. This will increas the assurance of you kids not snooping around for you weapons.

The Eddie Eagle program has taught over 20 million children, including myself, about how to stay away from a gun unless with parent supervision. This program is taught all over the country.

A study shows that families with children 18 and younger, 20 percent stored guns that are loaded, 30 percent stored a loaded gun unlocked, and 8 percent stored weapons unlocked and loaded. 40 percent of families leave their weapon case unlocked. To reduce accidents and reduce children's access to dangerous weapons, use trigger locks and lock boxes.

A common weapon academy says that the safest home for you child is a home without a firearm. As a child, we experience the world without a worry in our head and children do not expect dangerous events to happen. Curiosity, can in fact, kill

You could add info about the impulsive suicides and higher death rates than in other countries to show the problem in the U.S. in support of your thesis

A gun safe is the best way to ensure top notch safety. A wooden gun cabinet is not the best way because it usually has a window and allows people to see what is stored away. A gun safe will not only put your weapons to safe keeping, but other valuable as well. It will survive in a fire.
