But, thanks to a growing body of research, momentum is building behind video games and their legitimacy as tools for learning.
"Research has found that video games encourage hands-on learning, critical thinking and collaboration," Dr Curwood said. "In addition to that, they motivate children and young adults to explore new content, develop new literacy skills and engage in self-directed learning, and this occurs both in school and out-of-school contexts."
The use of video games is covered in the new Australian curriculum and is recognised as an effective way of engaging students.
Bianca Hewes, an English teacher at Davidson High School, has introduced a video game elective for Year 9 students and next month the school will hold a video games appreciation day.
Thought power is the key to creating reality. Everything you perceive in the physical outer world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of your thoughts.

A DAD COMMENTS - Here's the funny thing... A conversation that I had w/my 12 year old son, honestly lead me to this post. He started by explaining to me Quantum Mechanics (which totally had me lost, lol); but then he went deeper, and said basically the same thing this article said. That our thoughts and actions control our universe, and by believing what we make the choice to believe, is what we become is what our reality truly is. He also said, that every thought and every action impacts the universe, if we truly believe something, anything, it will come to pass. He gave me an example. If you put a cat in a box and there is poison placed in that box, 1 of 2 things will happen. The cat will either eat the poison and die, or not eat it and live... And since you can't see the cat inside the box, that until you open the box, the cat is both dead and alive. It is our predominant thought or believe, that makes the cat either dead or alive. For me this was so profound coming from a 12 year old kid, especially my kid..
So I got to thinking, is he right, which I did the search. Do your thoughts create your reality, and I found this post. And wow... If anything, I have very enlightened son. And it is truly something worth considering.. You know how he ended the conversation.... Mama, what do you really think Jesus meant when He said, if you have Faith you can move that mountain. That it all comes down to faith... Amazing...
STANDING in a circle in Eisenhower Park here, 14 mothers dressed in workout pants and sneakers sang a “hello song.” Clapping their hands, they called out the names of the babies and toddlers tucked into strollers in front of them.
by Josh Richardson There is no doubt the Earth is evolving spiritually. People are experiencing intense changes within their life, work, behaviors and personal relationships. Many are awakening at a rate that can only be described as phenomenal. So how do we know if we are awakening?
This is such a beautifully composed set of facts. It's wonderful how the human species hanging out on this planet now evolve into masters of all there is. Enjoy this. ~PEACE
