I watch rugby league and love the game, and I agree that it is a brutal game. "A hard game played by hard men." However the fact that this boy died playing the game is surely a reason to look at and ensure the safety of the men playing it. I also agree that the whole attitude about the hardness of the game may need to be altered so that we do everything in our power to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again.,

ACC Human Performance/Health Sciences: No Train No Gain - TRAINING PRINCIPLES & METHODS

ACC Human Performance/Health Sciences: No Train No Gain - TRAINING PRINCIPLES & METHODS | Rutherford College Physical Education | Scoop.it
Intensity- n. the extreme magnitude or amount of strength, force, energy, or feeling that something has.  The word, intensity, is commonly used by people to describe the degree to which something is challenging or difficult, just like the dictionary defines it as.  This is no different when it comes to describing a workout.  Many people run in the other direction when they hear the words, “vigorous exercise” or “intense workout”.  No pun intended.  However, in the fitness world, the word intensity is used for different purposes.  Further, the benefits of participating in regular vigorous exercise are becoming more and more apparent.

What Does Critical Thinking Mean in Education ?

What Does Critical Thinking Mean in Education ? | Rutherford College Physical Education | Scoop.it

Critical thinking is an important skill in the  21st century learning. Education's overall goal is to produce students that will be able to think critically and not just take in things like a parrot. Of course there is a bunch of other important skills out there but this particular one stands out from the crowd. The thing about ttis skill is that while almost all  teachers agree upon its priority in education only few really know what it really means

Turns out, that old “practice makes perfect” adage may be overblown. New research led by Michigan State University’s Zach Hambrick finds that a copious amount of practice is not enough to explain why people differ in level of skill in two widely studied activities, chess and music.
