Très intéressant.  Je crois que nous devons être conscient du modèle d'affaires de ces courses, choisir celles qui nous vont le mieux et avoir du plaisir tout en gardant un élément compétititf pour soi-même!

Voici un article qui poursuit le débat des performances vs la participation. On se demande si certaines courses ne deviennent pas que des parades. Et pourquoi des coureurs âgés peuvent encore arriver si près du peloton de tête. En gros, on y explique que l'amérique semble avoir perdu le goût de la compétition...


Évidemment, comme il s'agit d'un article écrit du point de vue américain (états-uniens, on devrait dire), on y lit même une remarque du président des Spartan Race (chronométrées), qui considère les courses comme Tough Mudder comme du communisme. En effet, parce qu'elles insistent sur le fait que d'être obsédés par les chronos, c'est 'poche', elles seraient 'un-american', quelle blague.


Pourtant, n'y a-t-il rien de plus capitaliste que ces séries qui attirent des milliers de clients, prennent de l'expansion partout sur la planète, emploient des centaines de gens bénévolement, se donnent bonne conscience en donnent quelques sous aux oeuvres de charité et en plus économisent en n'ayant pas à chronométrer leur course!!

Ultra-Trail Harricana 65km Trail Race Review

ActiveSteve puts on his new trail running shoes and heads to La Malbaie in the Charlevoix region of Quebec for an ultra race. Covering 65km of the Traversée de Charlevoix, he spends nearly 8 hours on the course before finishing it. Although this was only the first year of this event, you'd never tell from the organization and attention to detail of the organizers. Check out this video and see if this might be the Ultra for you to try!
