Oil may not be formed the way we think it is.

The oil industry too has its own distinct labels which include the "Peak Oil" theorists, those who believe the world is fast depleting the finite supply of fossil fuel; and the pragmatists, those who recognize that engineering and technological advances in oil drilling and extraction continuously identify new reserves that make oil plentiful.

And there's a third group you may not know. These people are deeply interested in oil and its origins, but their advocacy of "abiotic theory" has many dismissing them as heretics, frauds, or idealists.

They hold that oil can be derived from hydrocarbons that existed eons ago in massive pools deep within the earth's core. That source of hydrocarbons seeps up through the earth's layers and slowly replenishes oil sources. In other words, it turns the fossil-fuel paradigm upside down.

Rossi has actually said quite a lot about his business plans in remarks on his web site, The Journal of Nuclear Physics, and from his comments it is possible to get an idea of the business plan he has in mind.

Here are some key points that can be gleaned from recent comments.

1. Leonardo Corporation will be the sole manufacturers of the E-Cat reactors. Until now these reactors have been made by hand, but Rossi has said this process will be automated. Rossi has mentioned having plants or offices in Miami, Boston and Manchester, NH.

2. Outsourcing will be done for other components.

3. 10 per cent of pre-tax profits will be spent on research and development.

4. Leonardo Corporation will have employees who will recharge the units on site, and spent reactors will be returned to treatment units which will be located strategically for regeneration.

5. Leonardo Corporation will possibly eventually become a public company. About this, Ross has said “Probably we will sell shares to allow everybody to participate to this enterprise. But before this we have to consolidate our manufacturing and commercial system.”

6. While production of the 1 MW plants is already underway, it appears that Rossi’s priorities are to produce home heating units and electrical generator — both of which he estimates will take two years to achieve. He also says he has a ‘duty’ to use E-Cats for desalination — which his technology is ready for now.

When asked recently what Rossi’s motivation was for all the work he is doing, his reply was “to make cheap and clean energy”. It’s a simple goal that is hardly possible to find fault with, but the difficulties involved are daunting — even if he has the technology to accomplish this. It sounds like Leonardo Corporation is going to try to go it alone and build the production facilities and organizational infrastructure to handle the demand that will surely come once the E-Cat is accepted as a viable energy source.

We looked yesterday what Andrea Rossi’s stated goals are regarding the proliferation of his E-Cat technology. He envisions that eventually a whole industry surrounding his E-Cat invention will be in place, with a manufacturing, distribution, servicing and reprocessing network to allow for the widespread use of his invention in the real world.

This is obviously a vast undertaking, and to be successful will require a great deal of money build the organization he envisions. So how does someone in Rossi’s position get from where he is now, to where he hopes to be?

The five kilowatt E-Cat is still in research and development phase. Upon completion (2013), it will be offered for sale to the general public. The unit will provide a constant yet adjustable output of up to five kilowatts of heat (in the form of hot water).

Brian Ahern received his PhD in material science from MIT, holds 26 patents and was a senior scientist for 17 years in research and development at USAF Rome Lab at Hanscom Air Force Base. Ahern was the U.S. Air Force’s expert on nano-materials. Ahern has discovered the LENR phenomenon is occurring on the nanoscale and involves a formerly misunderstood and rarely explored attribute of nano-magnetism.

Apparently, energy localization at the nano-scale circumvents the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Nature evolved to take advantage of these energy exchange mechanisms available only at this size scale (which is why ordered structures can be created from chaos, such as after the big bang.) This phenomenon was identified in 1996 as Oscillons in relation to Chaos Theory, but has never been clearly understood until now.

As news of the E-Cat spreads, as it seems to be doing right now, this “E-Cat anticipation effect” could be magnified — which would mean trouble for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, both for the manufacturers and the installers of HVAC systems.

Andrea Rossi is very much aware that he needs so much amount of money and a lot of hard work to achieve his ultimate goal, which is to bring cold fusion devices to the vast majority of people.

The Low Energy Nuclear Reactor is not anymore a speculation. Admittedly, the world will not change overnight. One of the things that can accelerate the proliferation of the Rossi energy catalyzer device is a big company or venture capital to partner with Andrea Rossi. Is the lack of E-Cat patent preventing Rossi from going into partnership with other organizations?

Late yesterday a web site for Leonardo Corporation, www.leonardo-ecat.com was launched which carries the subtitle “Official Site Launched 11.11.11″.

The site was created for Leonardo Corporation by Sterling D. Allan of PESN and contains information about E-Cat technology and products. There are numerous links between the Leonardo site and PESN pages.

Today, Andrea Rossi commented about the site on his Journal of Nuclear Physics site:

“This is not yet our official website, contains many errors to be corrected, contains wrong names in wrong places. It needs a lot of corrections, so pèlease disregard it for at least three days … It is a draft with many errors, needs many corrections.”

Apparently the reason for the site being launched was that November 11, 2011 was considered to be a notable date.

ECat.com has launched "in association with Andrea Rossi" as his licensee in Northern Europe, though the site is worded as being the global mouthpiece for the ECat. The professionally rendered site is mostly excellent, though there are weaknesses. The once-official, Leonardo-ECat.com, will remain independent.

Sterling D. Allan writes:

My first inclination and action by the emails I wrote yesterday, when finding out about ECat.com, was to try and cooperate with them collaboratively.

ECat.com is by far the best domain name. Someone paid a lot of money or pulled some deep connections in order to get that domain name from its previous owner that had it for more than a decade.

But it seems pretty clear at this point based on the lack of response from ECat.com and from Rossi, that such collaboration isn't going to happen. We at PES will not be part of ECat.com.

So it looks to me like Leonardo-ECat.com will indefinitely remain an independent website, under my (PES Network) independent editorial control.

Finally, as expected, a professionally designed website for Andrea Rossi's E-Cat technology has emerged. The main page states "In Association with Andrea Rossi". When asked if he has an official relationship with this site, Rossi responded: "Yes, it is the website of our North Europe commercial Branch."

From the About section : ECAT.com in Association with Andrea Rossi and Leonardo Corporation offers a platform for interested parties in the ECAT technology.

A brief history of Sterling Allan and Andrea Rossi's relationship as it pertains to the official website that was recently launched with Andrea Rossi's permission, followed by Rossi removing his approval and requesting that the site be taken down; and why Sterling chose to instead take editorial responsibility for the site and keep it up.

In March 1989, The University of Utah persuaded Fleischmann and Pons to announce their discovery in order to establish priority for the Patent. The following month, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) announced that it had applied for its own patents based on theoretical work of one of its researchers, Peter L Hagelstein, who had been sending papers to journals. In 1993, the University of Utah licensed all its cold fusion patents to ENECO, a new company created to profit from cold fusion discoveries. Five years later it said that it would no longer defend its patents.

U.S. patents might still be granted when they are given a different name in order to disassociate it from cold fusion, although this strategy has had little success in the US. The problem is that most of these patents cannot avoid mentioning Fleischmann and Pons’ research due to legal constraints, thus alerting the patent reviewer that it is a cold-fusion-related patent. David Voss said in 1999 that some patents that closely resemble cold fusion processes, and that use materials used in cold fusion, have been granted by the USPTO. The inventor of three such patents had his applications rejected after review by experts in nuclear science. He rewrote the patents so they would be reviewed instead by experts in electrochemistry, who approved them.

So how do the customers finance Rossi? Well, it’s their funds for the plants that help afford all necessary infrastructures and manufacture details to be set into place for the commercialization to go forth. And thus it is ultimately the issue of E-Cat certifications is partially up to the customers.

The larger the demand, the more Catalyzers will need to be made, and thus the greater will the need be for E-Cat certifications to be obtained so that more customers could purchase certified products. Therefore, indirectly the inauguration of E-Cat certifications may be aided by the customers of Rossi.

While the mysteries remain, Rossi does not appear to be the usual fraudster. He reportedly sold his own home to fund his research and has not been asking for down payments or other types of unsecured investments. In addition, his tests have not included any dramatic moments typical of scams.

Last week, Leonardo Corp. contracted with National Instruments, a major manufacturer of monitoring and control equipment. The partnership will include the development of control systems and for future E-Cats.

According to Rossi, the E-Cats currently being produced are only suitable for heating and desalinization. Moving forward, the technology can be modified for power production with some tweaks. Rossi hope to offer E-Cats for under $700 per kilowatt once mass production begins.
So, the question now is: are we headed into a brave new world of cheap, essentially limitless energy or will Rossi and his E-Cat become another blip in the long history of unmet fusion promises?

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that radioactive iodine has been detected across Europe, from Denmark to Slovakia, with officials stating off the record that the releases are ongoing and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation has reported that Russia has also been hit.

We should not have to live in a toxic world, and those who can do, should do everything in their power to encourage non-toxic forms of energy production and do something to stop psychopaths in the government, military and within industry from polluting our world with radioactive isotopes.

Andrea Rossi recently demonstrated that cold fusion is viable, with a demonstration of his E-Cat cold fusion generator in Italy. This potentially safe technology would provide unlimited cheap energy utilizing a proprietary catalyst to make nuclear fusion occur at a safe temperature. We could also be using thorium reactors, which cannot melt down and which do not produce as much radioactive waste, but these were rejected because they cannot create a nuclear bomb.

An analysis of the history of technology shows that technological change is exponential, contrary to the common-sense intuitive linear view.

New information from fusion physicist George Miley helps to clarify a few matters regarding recent developments in LENR research.

There is no doubt that we would want the technology to continue gaining momentum and invade the world A.S.A.P., but the truth of the matter is that it’s just not going to happen. It is gradually taking place, but it won’t take the world by the storm. There is too much at stake for the rest of the world driven by the oil and coal moguls. There is no way that they’d allow for some alternative energy technology to take over without proper backing.

Thus it is only natural for the low energy nuclear reaction revolution to spread quietly. And partially it is the responsibility of the believers in the technology. No, Rossi does not desire any investments per se. the greatest financial investment in the E-Cat plants and home units and the technology around it that can currently be done has to do with the customers who believe in E-Cats enough to buy E-Cat plants. It is those who buy E-Cat plants that support the technology and keep pushing it forward. These are the finances that are used for the proliferation in terms of the much talked about commercialization of Rossi’s invention. The responsibility to further the developments lies on the shoulders of the customers, and thus “to buy E-Cat plants or not to buy” results in quicker (or not) proliferation of Catalyzers.
