Completed in 80 A.D., Rome's Colosseum hosted gladiatorial games, mock sea battles and performances.

Just looking at this colosseum, I can picture the lions and the gladiators fighting to death at the expense of the emperor. It boggles my mind that something as beautiful as this is still standing (somehwat) today.

I took an art course and in that class we talk and saw a documenttary about Brunelleschi's Dome. It was amazing how he constructed it during that time period where things were limited. Many people watched as the Dome was being built and when I look at it now, I see the hard work that he put into this Dome.

The ancient aqueducts of Rome will now be explored by 6-wheeled robots. This reminds me of NASA's rovers on Mars, and later expeditions because the space environment is too hostile for humans. And we are using robots because of the gaseous hazardous  atmosphere in the tunnels, for human archaeologists to survive.
