The topic ‘Role of Libraries and Librarians in Education” interests me, because, this issue is a great area of concern for librarians all over the world. This curation/aggregation is although an assignment, the listed resources can be used for advocating Librarian's role to bring it to the notice of Teachers and Principals. I hope my fellow librarians find it useful and interesting.
Since creating a Pathfinder involves an annotated bibliography, I have used APA style of referencing along with annotations for about 15 scoops, which can be found in the comment section of each scoop. However, there are over 30 scoops that I have added untill now.
Some of the scoops have been curated by a few librarians/educators before, hence, those scoops already have curators insights, which I have retained. Please feel free to add your comments in the comment section.
The ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS are -
What are the different roles that School Library Media Specialist/Teacher Librarians play or FACILITATE Learning?
How can SLMS/TL's become partners in the Common Core Initiative?
How can SLMS/TL's Collaborate at different areas to Boost Academic Achievement ?
How can SLMS/'TL's help develop Digital Literacies?
What happens to the students, who do not have well resourced libraries or without a certified SLMS/TL ? or What are the effects of budget cuts on Libraries?
What is that we (Librarians) need to know about Common Core Initiatives? how will it affect collection development? and library services/programs?
The subtopics to this Pathfinder are listed below, readers may filter the scoops according to these tags:
LIBRARIANS AS FACILITATORS
LIBRARIANS AND THE COMMON CORE STANDARDS
DIGITAL LITERACIES/ICT IN EDUCATION
SCHOOL LIBRARIES/LIBRARIANS IN NEWS
INFORGRAPHICS FOR LIBRARIANS
I would be adding a few more links to this PATHFINDER, which will include resources for Teachers for the Common Core and more on Advocacy. My quest is to find out what works, when it comes to advocating for our Role in Education.
