Scientists in Europe have put together a "standardised knowledge base for robots," through which robots can exchange information with other robots using cloud computing.
This article/website gives information on how a scientists have built an internet for robots, so that robots can exchange informations with eachother. This will become bigger and better in the future and allow vital information to be shared through each robot, and would essentially make it easier to maintain robots and the software.

This article focuses on a World Wide Web for Robots. This Internet collects and stores all data that a robot has collectyed throughout it's day. Other Robots would be able to access this internet in the form of a query to an unknown problem. Essentially if one Robot takes a step forward so does every other. This would allow for lighter and smaller robots as they would only have to query the internet for any problems rather than going through memory for the solution.
The idea of transformers is cool even when they just turn from one thing to another, so how much cooler would they be if they could form into anything?

Walking on a treadmill is no great feat, unless your legs are being moved by a robotic device connected to your brain. A new brain-computer interface allows a person to walk using a pair of mechanical leg braces controlled by brain signals (above), as reported on arXiv. The device has only been tested on able-bodied people, and while it has limitations, it lays a foundation for helping people with paralysis walk again. The new device — developed by researchers at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of California, Irvine – is controlled by electroencephalogram, or EEG, signals generated by small voltage fluctuations in the brain. The method is completely noninvasive, as the signals are measured by a cap worn on the scalp.
This article/website shows the use of robotic limbs already being experimented with, this technology will change lives drastically, soon people will be able to have these robotic legs, arms you name it and they will be able to control these instruments with there brains , this technology is slowly starting to emerge now, but should likely take off in five to ten years, changing the lives of people who have lost there limbs or are have a disability.
The article shows the use of robotic limbs that are currently being experimented with this is an amazing technology for people that have lost there arms or legs and previously nothing could be done to restore function to the severed arm or leg. Not so far into the future, we might find ourselves with several robots running around the house doing everyday chores such as cleaning the floor and dishes to answering the phone, and alerting you when someone has called you. Not only will robots be able to do that but they will also be able to look after children and the elderly. There may even be an overload of robots in the house that there may not be enough space for all of them to move about and do there job that they were built to do. This just shows how fast technology and the area of robotics is growing and will continue to grow into the future.

A research group lead by Professor Tachi at Keio University in Japan is currently working on one of the first incarnations of an avatar that incorporates some pretty cool virtual robotics technology. By slipping on a pair of virtual reality gloves and a helmet, you would be able to control and see the world through your avatar’s eyes. The concept behind this virtual robotics technology is really called Telexistence, and it allows us to control a real avatar robot.

This will change the future, technology will allow humans to create there own avatar in the form of a robot, allowing humans to stay home whilst there avatar/robot goes out to do there daily needs or to even do there jobs at a single touch of a button, this technology will vastly change how the world works and runs.
A step up from remote controlled robots doing dangerous jobs, saving potential lives. This could allow for more dextrous and accurate controls without the remote-control middleman and instead with direct input.
If these were to make it into society then it could vastly change the structure of things, with work being done without even leaving the home.
Technology such as this which provides an avatar that can be operated remotely has infinite potential to make the lives of countless people easyer such robots provide an "out of body" experience and when perfected can enable working remotly and remotly carrying out daily chores. With strides like this technology is taking remarkable strides into how we are shaping our future.

Surgical robots have the potential to be more accurate and precise than the dexterity of a human, however it is limited only to what the machine is capable of. It would also require precise calibration if its to perform surgery on humans.
If this were to be developed further than it could allow trained professionals to do jobs remotely or possibly even have the machine entirely automated.
