Robots Could Help Farmers Rein In Fertilizer Pollution - NPR (blog)

Robots Could Help Farmers Rein In Fertilizer Pollution - NPR (blog) | Robotics in Agriculture | Scoop.it
“NPR (blog) Robots Could Help Farmers Rein In Fertilizer Pollution NPR (blog) Three brothers in Minnesota are betting that robots could compete with machines on the farm, too: the huge, and often inefficient, fertilizer applicators made by John...”
John Reid's insight:
These farmers envision leveraging small robots to achieve the goal of precision application of chemicals in a timely manner; row-by-row, plant-by-plant. Robotic solutions will disaggregate current practices which use machine systems that can travel 3-20 mph, have booms that span sometimes to 100 ft, and have control systems that regulate chemicals by nozzles over each row.
