Idols Eye is back on with Sylvester Stallone taking on the role of Tony Accardo (originally being played by Robert DeNiro).
Shooting is scheduled for February 2017 in Toronto.
While Stallone will be taking the role previously meant for Robert De Niro (of Chicago mob boss Tony Accardo), Robert Pattinson and Rachel Weisz are still aboard, according to ScreenDaily. Budgeted at around $25 million, the film follows Pattinson’s character as a “petty thief who unknowingly steals a blue diamond from Accardo and sparks a war between the two men as they strive to stay ahead of the FBI.”
Houda Benyanmina to Madame Figaro about new project:
It will be this incredible love story, told on a thirty years period, on a politic base. A movie about freedom and treason. It won’t be filmed in the suburbs (laughs). Oulaya, my sister, is already casting it and the main actor will be American. My American agent asked me what I was looking for and I told about Robert Pattinson. This guy has HUGE potential! He has this animalistic side, a rich interiority. The problem is, he is still voguing on the Twilight wave. But I really think he will become a big actor soon. There so much to go get from him. He did not explode yet. I think we could do great things together.
Excerpt: "Given that he feels so strongly about the mythology of fan culture, it's ironic that he has cast Pattinson in the film, as the actor has built up an ardent following in the years since the Twilight films, with a large number of fan sites dedicated to his work ... Corbet says he was interesting in using certain expectations to his advantage. "It’s really bizarre," says Corbet "There’s a couple of things. First of all, I’m not that connected to the notion of Rob as a celebrity, because I’ve known him for a long time and I didn’t discover him that way. The other thing is that I thought it would be really, really interesting to have this sort of Janet Leigh in Psycho effect, where you have someone who is a public figure and people have their eye on him, he’s interesting, he’s charismatic, he’s compelling, he’s handsome. And I thought, that it would really give weight to the first 20 minutes of the film. So I hired him for all of those reasons. I hired him because the role was written for a young man that was a bit younger than the female character, handsome and English, so I thought of him. "Anyone who has spent any time with the guy will know that he’s super hard-working and he never complains...."
Discover the incredible true story of THE LOST CITY OF Z, based on the bestselling book by David Grann. Directed by James Gray, starring Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, and Tom Holland.
Produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B, the film, directed by James Gray, will open in select theaters on April 21, 2017, and then expand. News of the release date comes on the eve of the movie's world premiere at the 2016 New York Film Festival, where it's the closing-night movie.
Karl Lagerfeld captured the actor on the streets of Paris outside his photo studio.
Karl Lagerfeld shot the ads in a film-noir style right outside his Left Bank photo studio. “I love to take photos at night in the streets,” Lagerfeld said. “That is my outdoor studio.” ...“Nobody comes or goes there,” he said.
As for Pattinson, “he is very easygoing and easy to photograph. But at the same time there is something mysterious about him, which I love,” Lagerfeld said. “His profile is the modern version of an antique coin.”
Kris Van Assche, creative director of Dior Homme, said Pattinson embodies “a rebellious contemporary icon” and is part of “the exploration of the diversity of the Dior Homme man.”
The oddest thing about Robert Pattinson’s new film is, well, it’s all odd. From a tilt of the camera that barely shows the actors, to a story about fascism that you need to work really hard at even to know it’s about fascism, it is an understatement to say that The Childhood of a Leader is so far removed from its star’s huge vampire breakthrough, Twilight, that it will share absolutely none of the same fans.
From The Film Stage: "Various sources have told us the Zellners are now directing Robert Pattinson in Damsel, a “Western Era comedy about a man trying to marry the woman of his dreams.” Production is expected to continue through early September ahead of a likely 2017 premiere."
"It was important for Brady to choose someone for the role whose presence shines thru scenes even where he is absent. What Rob did was smart, subtle, and substantial. He is a fantastic actor and I admire most of Rob’s film choices. He is definitely someone to keep an eye out for and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him one day on the other side of the camera. He is sensitive, passionate and has great taste so I’m looking forward to seeing what he could create..."
