Così viene definita la schiera dei nati tra il 1980 e il 2000. Rifiutano categoricamente l’idea del vivere per lavorare e sono determinati a svolgere un lavoro in cui si sentano realizzati. I giovani occupati di oggi hanno aspettative sempre più elevate nella scelta della posizione lavorativa e mostrano una spiccata tendenza a interrogarsi sul “senso” di ciò che fanno, sul “perché”. Da questo fatto deriva l’appellativo “Y”, che in inglese si pronuncia “why”, ovvero “perché”.
