ESSAY

Essay

Donald Metoyer's insight:

My topic was riots. I talked about the zoot suit riots, Detroit race riots and union strikes. The zoot suit riots were in LA. The zoot suit was a long baggy suit worn by Mexican americans, there were some people who saw it as un-patriotic. The zoot suit riots later spread to just race riots. The Detroit riots was my other topic. These riots were just basd on rumors between people. These riots were very destructive. Also, i found it interesting that U.S. servicemen were involved in the start of these riots.

These riots made there be more tension between different people. They have and will always effect society when it comes to relations between races. The riots were destructive but did not change the economy much, the mostly affected the social life of people. They shaped americans for more problems with race that would occur.
