Micah Thomas's insight:

I think that not many artists can pull this off. You have to be a huge artist to be able to do this and it is going to be a while until another artist even attempts this.

JAY Z's contract with Samsung forced the RIAA to address old statutes that had been in place for a long time.  It was a very influential business deal because the RIAA was forced to reevaluate the rules on digital sales, physical sales, purchase returns, and mass sales.  How many artists come out with an album and have a concern other than how much they sell?

RIAA adds digital downloads to be included in album sales. I think this is a long time coming. This speaks on how Jay-Z's Samsung deal to distribute his album has effected album sales rules and effectively changed a few of them. It speaks on what exactly has happened different to how normal sales are achieved.
