We recently had the opportunity to attend a local genealogy gathering, in Brive-la-Gaillarde, capital of Corrèze. At such a gathering, or forum de généalogie, as is the term here, representatives of genealogy cercles, or associations, set up stands in a hall or garden and offer to help anyone researching in their department.
