John Galt's insight:
As of tonight almost the whole government has been removed and the VP is in jail awaiting trial. The President now has an arrest warrant out for him. This is the demonstration in the Capitol on the 27th. Contrary to the "Civilized" USA no buildings were burned. None were looted. No tear gas was used. No one was killed.

Lake Atitlán is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Located in the western highlands of Guatemala the lake is surrounded by spectacular dormant volcanoes and pincturesque Mayan villages.
John Galt's insight:
Lake Atitlán (Spanish: Lago de Atitlán, [atiˈtlan]) is a lake in the Guatemala highlands. It is technicallyendorheic (lacking direct flow to the sea) but substantial seepage feeds two nearby rivers. Atitlan is recognized to be the deepest lake in Central America with maximum depth about 340 metres (1,120 ft). It is approximately 12 x 5 km, with around 20 cubic km of water. The lake is shaped by deep escarpments which surround it and by three volcanoes on its southern flank. Lake Atitlan is further characterized by towns and villages of the Maya people. The lake is about 50 kilometres (31 mi) west-northwest of Antigua; it should not be confused with the smaller Lake Amatitlán.
"At the water" is the meaning of "Atitlan". It is a fusion of simple Nahuatl words that belies the complexity of the entity it identifies. German explorer Alexander von Humboldt is the earliest prominent foreigner generally quoted as calling it "the most beautiful lake in the world."
The lake basin is volcanic in origin, filling an enormous caldera formed in an eruption 84,000 years ago. It is renowned as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and Aldous Huxley famously wrote of it: "Lake Como, it seems to me, touches on the limit of permissibly picturesque, but Atitlán is Como with additional embellishments of several immense volcanoes. It really is too much of a good thing."
