A commuter's grocery store

http://goo.gl/NqBNx
From Brand Flakes for Breakfast:
When you have a long commute every day, the last thing you want to deal with is grocery shopping. Tesco / Home Plus understands this, and that's why they created this wicked virtual grocery store in subway cars throughout South Korea. Commuters just snap a pict of the items they want using a QR code reader, confirm their order, and the groceries will be delivered to them when they get home. Freakin' brilliant, and the numbers prove it with a 130% increase in sales.

H&M Beach Store by H&M

H&M Beach Store by H&M | Retail | Scoop.it
Appearing as though it washed up on shore, a pop-up H&M shop was planted in sand last weekend at the Scheveningen beach in the Netherlands.

Located in a wooden cargo box, the pop-up shop was used for two days on the beach. Offering an ultra-convenient shopping experience for beach-goers, the Swedish retailer sold products on the spot to people who could use them immediately.

The shop sold H&M’s WaterAid collection, with beach-friendly gear like hats, bikinis, shorts and sandals. There were also beach chairs, sun umbrellas and other accessories.

The items available were only in shades of blue, making for a water-inspired interior.

25 per cent of the profits were donated to the WaterAid NGO that provides clean water, safe sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people.

Top 50 online retailers in the UK - Netimperative | Retail | Scoop.it
The London 2012 Ticket site ranked 35 for May 2011 as UK internet users applied to see sporting events at next year's Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, the fastest climbers year-on-year in the HOT 100 were National Express (up 23 places), Republic (+22), Bhs (+22), House of Fraser (+20), Boots (+18) and Sainsbury's (+17).

These fast risers represent the champions of some of the fastest growing industries within online retail this year: department stores, fashion, food and health and beauty.

B&Q and Homebase saw strong season gains this quarter thanks to the pleasant April weather and early demand for BBQs, lawnmowers and garden furniture.

Tesco becomes the third biggest online retailer in the UK, overtaking Play.com. Grocery and Alcohol was the third fastest moving category within online retail year-on-year, with Tesco, Sainsbury's and ASDA all climbing in the HOT 100 list

Consumers embrace mobile commerce globally: 91% in UK and 79% in Brazil have used mobile to engage in commerce | Retail | Scoop.it
Consumer engagement with mobile commerce has exploded, with as many as 91% of UK consumers having used their mobile device for commerce, to either research or purchase a product. The equivalent figure for Brazil is 79%, while the level did not dip below 72% in any of the markets surveyed.

According to figures in the Global Consumer Survey from MEF, the global community for mobile content and commerce, 82% of UK respondents access the mobile web on a daily basis, slightly less than the 84% that do so in Brazil. The high level of mobile web and commerce activity dovetail with a reduction in fixed-line internet usage: 41% of Brazilians and more than one-third (34%) of UK respondents now access the internet on their PCs less often than 18 months ago.
