More than seven out of 10 internet users are online buyers, and the gap is slowly narrowing. In 2011, 148 million US consumers ages 14 and older will make at least one purchase online, according to eMarketer estimates. From 2010 to 2015, nearly 30 million consumers will join the ranks of online buyers, representing 3.9% CAGR.

Google today announced the release of a major update that completely revises the Android Marketplace. The Marketplace will no longer be just a place from which you download apps – at least if you live in the United States. Users will be able to rent movies and purchase digital books on their smartphones. Movie rentals start at $1.99 and can be either streamed to your phone or downloaded for viewing while you’re in an area without data service.

The Japanese brand is now venturing into the culinary world by opening up a pop-up joint that serves up scrumptious food. The Mastermind JAPAN x The Great Burger combines the company with the famous burger destination located in the Harajuku area in Tokyo, Japan. The restaurant will have four different burgers served on a special plate decorated with the brand’s skull and crossbones logo. There will also be a keychain available as a souvenir.
