Finding other ways to reduce crime and seeing results on the restorative justice is a good thing. Seeing that the restorative justice can have an affect and showing that it is effective is important. Because it actually shows and supports that there are more ways to handle things and making it a little bit easier to understand what is going on. The RJC is doing a good job and I think that the point of it is to make it more well known.

Consistency and Proportionality in Victim-Offender Mediation Agreements

This tactic will work for small cases, maybe a person how take that cash from the corner store but for bigger offenses it can be a dangers and allow the citizens thru mediation to decide their punishment will not be fair. You would have to ask ‘who has the most power over the situation’. How is punishment going implemented and is it equal for all offenders of similar crimes? The criminal justice system is obligate to give a fair trial. When you have emotions involve then punishment can get ugly. I do agree that offenders should be allowed the opportunity to restore and transform because in the long run he or she will have to be supported by the tax dollars payers.
