Ana Cristina Pratas's curator insight, June 21, 2013 12:54 AM

ANNOTATE: Choose from the pen, highlighter, typewriter, stamps, straight-line, notes, underline, strikeout, photo, voice recording, and date stamp features.

CUSTOMIZE: Drag and drop the exact tools you need to create custom toolbars with your preferred tools. Switch between toolbars with a swipe, or open the Toolbar Drawer to edit your toolbars.

SCROLL: iAnnotate is the only PDF annotation app that allows continuous vertical scroll through an entire document. Other apps only let you view one page at a time, but iAnnotate gives you both options.

SEARCH: Use keywords to search the full text of every document in your Library, or limit your search to new, recent, unread or annotated documents to refine your results.

NAVIGATE: Our Navigation Panel lets you interact with your documents by thumbnails, bookmarks, annotations, PDF outline, search or other common actions.

MULTITASK: iAnnotate makes it easy to open multiple document tabs and navigate between them for tabbed reading.

CONNECT: Sync with iTunes, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive or WebDAV, or open PDFs directly from email or the Web.

FLATTEN: Compress your annotations onto the document to prevent them from being modified. This is useful for preserving signatures or for preventing recipients from deleting or modifying your annotations.

SHARE: Annotations you make in iAnnotate are fully integrated into the PDF and can be seen and edited on external PDF readers like Adobe Acrobat or Mac Preview.

SUMMARIZE: Forward text summaries of a document's annotations in the body of an email. Summaries include the type of each annotation, relevant page numbers, and marked-up text.

MODIFY: Add, delete or rotate pages in your documents.

ORGANIZE: iAnnotate helps you organize your PDFs into folders, with easy drag/drop functionality.

SECURE: Full support for the iOS Data Protection and Keychain functions.

PRESENT: Use an HDMI connection to output your documents on an external display, so that others can follow along as you annotate and present.

Leslie Buford's curator insight, May 10, 2013 10:05 AM

The voting 'eggs' in the suitcase, where each needed to be programmed, are obsolete.  Students and teachers can use their web devices to quickly set up polls and other interactive feedback quickly and easily with web based options, of which this is one of the simplest.  For iPad users, check out NearPod, Socrative, or Doceri, each with its own feature ist, to see which works best for you!  It can be difficult to move from traditonal modes of presentation to building interaction into instruction, but I am trying to plan future PD courses using this type of technology.  I would love feedback from teachers and professional development specialists about what works, pitfalls to look out for, and any other resources that you may suggest.

11 Mind Mapping Apps for the iPad

11 Mind Mapping Apps for the iPad | Resources and ideas for the 21st Century Classroom | Scoop.it

Mind mapping is a method that works for quite a lot of people. Brain storming, idea mapping, thought generation, think tanks – call it what you will. Traditionally done on large pieces of paper, why not use your iPad to create mind maps? You could use these for your own purposes, or “convert” those large flip charts into a smaller, digital version.
