A new English language travel website on Colombia, claiming to do its best to improve the country’s image abroad, was launched Thursday. The intention of the new site is to  Full Article »
Somrat Saelee's insight:

Colombia’s image abroad will get a boost with a new English-language website which aims to improve the country’s negative image. The website will address concerns over safety as well as explore other opportunities for improving the income from tourism to the country. Dispelling the myths that persist about the country will be a focus, as will showcasing its many assets and attractions.

More direct flights between Bogota and Europe are planned, attracting further visitors to the country which had 2.6 million foreign visitors in 2013 - an increase of 7% on 2012. Other factors such as Colombia qualifying for Brazil’s 2014 FIFA World Cup, and a possible peace deal between the government and leftist rebel group, FARC, could be expected to result in even higher tourist numbers.

The website is user-friendly and covers attractions and recommendations as well as practical information. It is written by people with first-hand experience of the country and is aimed at an audience who, through their acquaintance with Colombian people, “are already willing to think differently about the country”.

This is a perfect example of how the technology can help the industry to show the real image of a tourist destination, from the point of view of people who have been there.

Table for one? Restaurant offers giant stuffed animals for company

Table for one? Restaurant offers giant stuffed animals for company | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
In an attempt to combat loneliness, a restaurant in Japan is offering its solo diners enormous stuffed animals to sit opposite
Somrat Saelee's insight:

Oops! I do not think this is a good idea. I think this kind of concept increases antisocial behaviour in people in an era when technology is already breaking down relationships and our busy schedules prevent us from interacting face-to-face. The act of going out to dinner is a time to go and share with someone (partner, friends, and family). It is an act in which ideas are exchanged, things are learned, and it is an activity that allows the interrelationship between human beings which builds connection. With the concept introduced by this restaurant it this promotes and encourages loneliness and self-centredness. In my opinion this kind of ideas invites human beings to be a socially isolated, selfish beings, who focus only of themselves., It makes worse the situation we already have where people are losing the skills to relate to others. By replacing human companionship with ‘teddies’ without feelings, restaurant patrons do not need to concern themselves with politeness, manners or social graces as it is without consequence and antisocial behaviour  just grows. This idea reflects a selfish, individualistic willingness to do without the normal bonds of society.

hotelbusiness.com is the leading web-portal for hospitality news. Breaking News, full-length Web Stories and more self-refreshed every 5 minutes
Somrat Saelee's insight:

These days, people have to face with cancer which is no medicine for that. Thus, scientists are researching the methods to prevent and treat this disease as soon as possible. However, the cost of research is the main problem for institutes or academies in the world because doing a project needs a huge amount of budget to support during the researching time.

In order to solve this problem, there is many hospitals or institute linked to the hotels to raise funds for doing research to find out the treatment for cancer diagnosis by applying some campaigns. Besides, these programs are not only helping people be aware of cancer but it also brings many profits to charity funds as well as directly to hotel.

As to some hotels in Dallas, they encourage travellers using booking a hotel as a fundraising tool to donate money to cancer research through Roomkey.com. The stand up to cancer program is a chance for patients because hotels can  collaborate with researchers to have the benefits from customers to widen and raise meaningful funds that will deliver effective treatments to patients faster. This is also the way to push the business up to higher level and polish their brand names because, as a customer, people tend to do something humanistic and want to figure out the methods to deal with cancer. Therefore, this article seems to help hoteliers to persuade future travellers to make a booking online to raise funds for researching cancer.

Olympic Hotel Uses Smartphone To Control Check-In, Room Service & TV - PSFK | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
VIPs can use a Galaxy S III smartphone to control basic hotel services.

Thanks to the technological innovation, nowadays, the hotel operators can manage guest's activities through the high-tech devices such as smart phones or tablets which have functions connecting to hotel website directly with the far distances to do check-in or check-out, lock and unlock the door, control television as well as order room service that is a new concept used in Olympic Hotel. Therefore, guests do not need to queue and wait for doing check-in or check-out with traditional methods. This way is not only saving time for guests but it is also reduce job for front office staff.

Take room service part as an example to explain clearly for this article because guest's rooms are equipped the Samsung Galaxy smart phones to order the meals to their room immediately without moving out and wasting time. The Samsung Galaxy will be updated regularly with the latest schedule and information of the hotel. With this convenience, the hotel will run smoothly with 24/7 service without resting or complaining. Besides, customers can choose their own languages for someone who are non-English native speaker to do all the great things. In fact, this is a wonderful idea for guests during the holiday times because after many hours flying, people tend to be tired and do not want to wait for long time at front desk to do check-in or dining at restaurant.

Luxury and seclusion in The Maldives at the spectacular Lily Beach Resort and Spa.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

These days, building a hotel is easy but choosing the place to construct it is quite important because the geography and location are these elements to decide the success of the brand. Therefore, a resort and spa, which is located nearby beaches or on the islands, is a new concept in recent years in which Lily Beach Resort and Spa has the advantages in location with the pristine beaches, lush tropical vegetation and the exotic house-reef  just few meters away from the shore.

In 2009, Lily Beach Resort & Spa was reopened as a 5 star luxury resort after an extensive renovation with the new pioneering concept “Affordable Luxury”. The decoration has been changed with the new unique design and be closer to nature because the environmental topic is hot issue in the world. In the Limelight - Lapa Rios - Cayuga Collection - By David Thurnau

In the Limelight - Lapa Rios - Cayuga Collection - By David Thurnau | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
Article - In the Limelight - Lapa Rios - Cayuga Collection - By David Thurnau - Lapa Rios’s lodging accommodations consist of 16 bungalows situated within the rainforest. Constructed from locally sourced materials including; concrete, certified sustainable wood, and abundant, quick growing bamboo, these structures have proven to be unobtrusive and complementary to the surrounding area.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

The Lapa Rios resort is built based on the theme of local rainforest environment in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica. The purpose of constructers is to protect the Costa Rican rainforest. Thus, all materials used to built the resort is harvested from surrounding area such as "concrete, certified sustainable wood, and abundant, quick growing bamboo". The resort also uses the solar heating system for the hot water supply "at little cost to environment". In order to catch up the green trend, the lodge produces electricity from biodiesel to supply to rooms and make guests feel enjoyable in nature without internet, television, radio, appliances or air conditioning. Although there is no window, its bungalows still receive enough sunlight and the cool breezes thorough mesh exterior which is considered as the innovation in construction.

This resort is applying the "sustainable processes" in their daily operation. For example, staff are hired from local human source because of their knowledge about the local environment, using the food from sustainable practice suppliers, utilising the natural environment to operate eco-tours. Besides, the resort also applies sustainable concepts such as organic soap used in economic laundry or natural drying instead of using energy, organic garden supplying for the hotel, pigs are fed by hotel's food waste and theirs solid waste can use as renewable cooking fuel or to fertilize the garden. In addition, the lodge encourage guests reuse water bottles without costing, using biodegradable products and recycling the plastic or reducing lighting to avoid annoying the nocturnal animals that inhabit the forest. Therefore, this article is the good example for the new hotel's concept in recent years because the resort successfully applied the sustainability to become the green hotel with the main idea of three R's such as reuse, recycle, reduce.

Ehotelier News Archives [Apr 17, 14 | 7:08 am] Mr. Tommy Hilfiger purchases The Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach
Somrat Saelee's insight:

Tommy Hilfiger is known better for his contribution to fashion and design. This is because he spent his formative years and the better part of his life as a cloths designer, gaining global popularity for his ingenuity in the process. His decision to diversify into the hospitality industry bodes well for the growth of the sector, due to the fact that it will save some jobs and create others in the process. The Raleigh hotel was a flagship facility when it was first constructed. It is regrettable that mismanagement has bedeviled this establishment on several necessitated that it be sold. Being a massive acquisition for his portfolio, Mr. Hilfiger believes that this brand will revert to profitability if placed under proper management, subsequently boost his investment portfolio. I arrived at this conclusion, because he employed an experienced hotel manager, who boasted of an impressive track record in the hospitality industry. He intends to use the Raleigh as his flagship investment in this sector, a fact that explains his decision to invest enormously in the restoration and preservation of the establishment. It is believed that its location along the beach makes it a prime venture, with a high potential for profitability.

The impact of the crisis on Athens’ hotels

The impact of the crisis on Athens’ hotels | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
Athenian hoteliers are expecting significant increases in occupancy and room rate levels in 2014 compared to the prior year.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

Tourism in Greece is recovering after a number of years which saw a sharp decline in traveller numbers. The economic crisis which began in 2008 deterred tourists, especially to Athens, but 2013 was a great year with 17.5 million tourists, following on from 2012 and the political instability which kept arrival numbers low.

Hotel occupancy in Athens suffered as the social unrest created by the crisis reversed the great improvements and growth which the industry experienced following the 2004 Olympic Games. This was particularly significant in the ‘MICE’ sector – meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. And although the industry is experiencing a strong recovery, it will take a long time to recover completely.

Greece relies heavily on the tourist dollar which makes up 17% of GDP and keeps 18% of the workforce employed. An end to the riots and negative publicity in the international media has aided a rise in tourist numbers which is expected to be strengthened by conversion of the Olympic Tae Kwon Do venue into a convention centre, the establishment of an Athens hub by Ryanair and improvements to the Piraeus cruise terminal.

The tourism is one of the most important sources of income for Greece.

Airline crew security - how safe is your hotel?

Airline crew security - how safe is your hotel? | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
Ehotelier News Archives [Apr 17, 14 | 7:06 am] Airline crew security - how safe is your hotel?
Somrat Saelee's insight:

Here, the writer interrogates the level of importance that owners of airline carriers give to the security of their crew members. I established the importance of ensuring that these people are safe, was that it determines whether the next flight will materialize or not. On many occasions, most of them are prohibited from attending bars and restaurants contained in those hotels where they lodge. It is believed that the insistence on room service will ensure they remain safe from physical attacks or food poisoning. It is also important that hotels strive to maintain the security of airline crew members to the best of their ability. To achieve this, they should ensure that all areas that will be accessed by the crew members are under the surveillance of properly functioning CCTV cameras. It is also advisable that their rooms are fitted with electronic lock systems and the area that they have been allocated is labelled sufficiently with warning messages that will deter any form of interference. Most importantly, the hotel management should ensure that the mandatory security patrols are carried out within their resting quarters for the entire duration of their stay there. This will ensure that they enjoy their recuperative break sufficiently while eliminating the possibility of interrupting subsequent travel plans of the airline.

Ehotelier News Archives [Apr 17, 14 | 7:07 am] News in brief
Somrat Saelee's insight:

The JW Marriott Hotels and Resort have pioneered in the use of technology to enhance service delivery by taking up the use of a cellular device app. It was designed with the intention of improving customer experience, by enabling their guests to share their experiences and other memorable moments through their social media accounts. It is the first app of its kind to be developed by a hotel brand with a view of tapping up potential clients, after they watch the experiences shared by the former guests. I have gathered that it allows guests to create souvenirs by integrating their personal photos and videos with a series of customized images of JW properties. They also have the option of incorporating music and text to these videos. The app, CUR8 features content from all of the 64 premises globally that are operated by the JW Marriott franchise. After preparing their videos, travelers can share them through Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. The app is available for free presently and can be accessed for download at the iTunes store. This app is different from other hotel themed apps, because it allows users to generate and share content on their own, as opposed to feeding them on pre-determined messages.

Hospitality Net - The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
Organised by dmg events and MICE Arabia - The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia, the premier event where suppliers to the hotel, hospitality, food and restaurant sector can meet with key buyers and decision makers; and secure new business deals for the year ahead.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

This event provides a forum through which the different players in the hotel industry can congregate to secure fresh business deals and chart out applicable action plans that they can undertake in a bid to grow their business ventures.  Attendees include suppliers of the different raw material and the owners of hotels, food courts and other similar themed business ventures that constituted the hospitality industry. From recent studies, I have gathered that the hotel industry is worth an estimated $28 billion in this region alone, further adding to the prominence of this meeting. Industry players will have a chance of interacting with the best of global brands from renowned specialists of the restaurant and food markets. This guarantees attendees a comprehensive analysis and perspective of the hospitality industry. The importance of this event is also compounded by the fact that tourism is expected to increase its contribution to the GDP of Saudi Arabia. I foresee the growth of this sector to a great extent, due to the fact that a five year projection revealed an intention to construct more than 17,000 hotels in that duration. Most importantly, the government had announced that it was committed to boost the hospitality and tourism sector by investing $80 billion on related infrastructure initiatives.

Foreign visitors to Paris in 2013 numbered 15.5 million; up 8.2 per cent from the previous year and representing the highest visitor numbers in ten years. More than 32 million foreigners consider Paris as the number one destination, as measured by hotel occupancy. But the rise in visitor numbers did not include the French themselves whose numbers visiting the capital dropped in the same time period.

Visitors came in greatest number – 2.1 million – from Britain, followed by Americans Germans, Italians and the Chinese who made up the largest number of Asian visitors, overtaking the Japanese. The Ile de France Tourism Committee also registered a 21% increase in visitors from the Middle East.

This article reflects the current situation of tourism, the economy nowadays allows Chinese and European tourists stand out in the list of travellers, making them an important target for the industry. We can also see that the romance, architecture and magic to enclose cities like Paris continue on the top of the destinations list to visit, even their magic invites tourists to return again and again.

Somrat Saelee's insight:

In recent years, hospitality industry is dominating in the economy of each nation. As a result, there are many hotels and resorts built under many types of concept. No matter what level they are, customers will come back to the hotel if the quality of service is perfect. This is the first important element decided the success because guests expect personalized, friendly and sociable service when staying in hotel. In order to have a good service, hoteliers must solve problems which are existing in the current market place that is they have to balance between guest's expectations and owner's expectations. That means the hotel operators have to satisfy customers with outstanding services and earn high profits in short-term to meet the demand of their boss. Nowadays, many innovative hotel concepts are displayed where guests can find comfort and satisfaction in friendly environment as well as these are new markets where hotel owners can invest in and make profits turnover.

In details, townhouse hotels attract travellers because the location is always in city centre and the warm personal welcome which make guests feel at home such as offering local presents or taking well care of guests during their vacation. For instance, the successful key of this kind of hotel is giving 4 star service at a 3 star price. Creating a Balance: Help Guests Stay Healthy While Traveling| HotelBusiness.com

Creating a Balance: Help Guests Stay Healthy While Traveling| HotelBusiness.com | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
As competition intensifies for business and leisure travelers, hotel brands are developing new custom experiences and amenities to help create loyalty among guests and build stronger brand identities.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

In the competitive market today, hotel brands want to dominate the hospitality and tourism market with the intention that is to create the excited experience for their customers by pushing stronger brand identities or developing hotel's amenities to improve loyalty programs which is considered as essential elements to differentiate each brand as well as decide success of hotel through the occupant room rate. Moreover, tourists always aim to the trips with the healthy purpose and back to nature. This article shows personalized amenity programs of three particular hotels where are leading this new trend.

First of all, Kimpton hotels used bicycles as main transport to help guests experience burning calories when travelling. That is such a great idea and the hotels are on the track of success because there are more and more customers using their services and they also receive many outstanding comments or feedbacks about these outdoor activities.

Secondly, hotels nowadays tend to serve a variety of demographics in which female travellers make up the majority and they lead to the private space to exercise to keep fit during their journey. In order to meet these demand, Omni Hotels and Resorts applied Select guest loyalty program a Get Fit Kit for female members with complimentary weights, a yoga mat, stretch mat or other equipment. With these wise strategies, they became the first choice for female travellers when they are in holiday.

The objective of hoteliers is to make guests feel like they can do the same things as they do at home and stay healthy while travelling. As to some customers, they cannot enjoy their holiday because they have to sleep on not their bed and stay in the boring room with only four walls around. Thus, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts take chance to meet those demands such as offering something to eat or drink healthily before going to bed as well as using aromatherapy oil or candle to help their guests fall in sleep naturally. This is a good marketing promotion to help Marriott hotel compete with their rivals and increase the hotel's bottom line.

Somrat Saelee's insight:

In recent years, people tend to be back to nature and escape the busy life in big cities because they have to struggle with the rat race and suffer with many pressure from working or studying. Due to the increasing living standard and high income, people always choose the destinations where can combine these elements among travelling, healing, relaxation and rehabilitation. In order to follow the contemporary hospitality trend, the I resort has displayed the new concept of service that is hot spring mineral spa or mud bathing. Which was existed many centuries and this was also a health treatment commonly used in Asian and European countries where subterranean stream of water is connected to the volcano and established hot springs.

Vietnam is well-known as the new destination in which Nha Trang beach is considered one in famous, beautiful, pristine and natural beaches in the world. As a result, mud bathing service is applied with all natural and medical ingredients to meet the demand of majority of foreigners and local tourists who are looking for the new experiences of rest, therapeutic or physical treatments with the professional skills and services. Thanks to the innovation in constructive technique, the I resort has been designed based on the traditional arrangement of wood, rock, coconut leaf, lotus pond, gourd and flower garden to get the best result from this activity.

In fact, the mud- bathing is also used as a beauty therapy in spa long time ago with the benefits such as anti-inflammatory and alleviation of muscle pains including sodium, magnesium and potassium which substances are from volcanic ash and can absorb into the skin. Wow, this is such wonderful treatment and the unique feeling when you are deeply into the mud. However, the natural resources will be no more in the future with the excessive exploitation, hoteliers should have some strategies to protect and use these resources reasonably.

Article - Shangri-La Hotels And Resorts Replaces Print Newspapers Distributed to Guests - Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will replace approximately two million complimentary print newspapers distributed annually to guests with environmentally-friendly digital versions beginning 29 March.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

These days, the raw materials are exploited excessively in which the forests are suffering the serious damage by cutting down trees to generate the paper productions. This becomes a main issue for the environmentalists as well as the hoteliers because hospitality uses a lot of things produced by wood which is the essential ingredient to make the notebooks, newspapers, etc. In order to reduce the scarcity of wood, there are many hotels apply these high technology to replace the traditional way to access to news or information from newspapers. Take Shangri-La hotel and resort is an example, the hotel offers guest with complimentary internet access to the Press Reader instead of print newspapers as always. This replacement is not only saving budget to pay monthly for paper manufactories but it is also eco-friendly trend in hospitality industry. Guest can read news by their ipad, notebook, smartphone which are provided in all guest's rooms with more than sixty languages. According to Igor Smirnoff- chief commercial officer for Press Reader, guest can download the full versions of favourite international newspapers or magazines in their native language through their own devices  and make them not feeling homesick when staying at hotel. This trend received lots of agreements from many hotels in the world because it can reduce a bit annual operating cost and contribute to protecting the environment.

Which Hotel Digital Marketing Channels Are Most Effective? - O'Rourke

Which Hotel Digital Marketing Channels Are Most Effective? - O'Rourke | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
You probably spend quite a bit of time analyzing and reporting on your digital marketing efforts. Learn about the most effective ones you can use.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

It is a notable fact that most managers in the hospitality industry spend their time deliberating upon the most effective method of marketing. This is because attributing generated incomes to a specific marketing campaign is the standard market practice. As a result, I acknowledge the benefits of being knowledgeable regarding the channels that facilitate revenue generation, in order to minimize wastage of resources. This also underscores the importance of exploiting all channels that may bring in assisted revenues, most of which can be beneficial in supplementing the initial budget. This is because direct advertising channels may not be as effective as initially envisaged, thereby failing to raise the expected amounts of income. In an ideal situation, marketers would be advised to spread their resources across all available channels, thereby adopt a synergy if they intend to succeed in increasing their revenues. In reality, this may be a long shot, due to the existence of limited resources. In spite of all this, marketers are warned that investing in digital channels may be a tricky venture if they are not understood properly. This way, they may be better placed to receive better value for the fiscal resources that they commit in such ventures.

Bronze Age Akrotiri Reopened

Bronze Age Akrotiri Reopened | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
The mid-second millennium B.C.E. volcanic eruption on the island of Thera (the modern tourist island Santorini) redefined Bronze Age history for the entire Aegean. One of the largest eruptions in the planet’s history, the blast not only destroyed the island’s highly artistic Minoan population at Akrotiri, but also had repercussions across the region.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

With the re-opening of Akrotiri, the Greek island of Santorini now has even more attractions to boast about. The ancient site is considered to be one of the most significant archaeological destinations in the world and contains clues to life before the massive volcanic eruption which wiped out the Minoan civilisation. It is often referred to as ‘the Pompeii of the Aegean’ and is a well-preserved settlement which has been unearthed to reveal some of the architecture and artistic relics of the Bronze Age. The eruption’s far-reaching effects were also thought to have included crop failures as far away as China.

Santorini is an idyllic and unique place which has drawn millions of tourists to its black sand beaches, its whitewashed Cycladic villages clinging to the rim of the caldera, and to its lively clubs and restaurants. Since re-opening in 2012, following a roof collapse in which, sadly, a tourist was killed, it offers a rich exploration of ancient history to add to its many attractions.

The re-opening of Akrotiri is a great opportunity to the hospitality and tourism industry, it open new work spaces, is a new tour to the tourists, and also is helping the country to recover for the crisis.

Beauty of Bali under threat from pressures of mass tourism

Beauty of Bali under threat from pressures of mass tourism | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
Boom in visitors to island paradise places strain on natural resources and the local Hindu culture
Somrat Saelee's insight:

Bali’s cultural tourism of the past has been replaced by mass tourism which is destroying the environment and culture of the place, also generating an excessive use of resources. The thousands of hotels are using a huge amount of the freshwater reserves, land is filling by resorts, foreigner housing, and new roads, waste amounts to 13,000 cubic metres a day, and traffic congestion is severe. The Hindu culture is also under pressure and authorities have responded by trying to ban the building of resorts within 150m of beaches or within 5km of temples. However, local elected officials influenced by property developers try to prevent the new laws.

Ultimately, this overdevelopment, congestion and destruction which tourism causes will, ironically, deter tourists from coming. The different rites and rituals of Hindu religion and culture, are being standardised so that differences between regions are being lost. The tourism also seems to be threatening the Balinese language and occupations like traditional music groups, further affecting the culture, what is unique and appealing to many travellers.

So, is the tourism industry really helping Bali to grow up?

Because tourism has got a lot from Bali, especially culture and environment, tourism should give back something in change.  For example, help the native people and encourage them to keep their culture and teach the tourists about it. In addition the hotels and resort's management teams should include Bali's culture samples in their diary operations to show travellers the rich culture of Balinese’s people.

Ehotelier News Archives [Apr 17, 14 | 7:05 am] The benefits of empowering your staff
Somrat Saelee's insight:

The author notes the similarity in characteristics of all entry level employment opportunities, concluding that it is the mentality held by an employee that will decide whether the opportunity becomes a career or remains just another job. I gathered from the article, that persons who approach their employment with the mentality of a job are less motivated and do not have the necessary curiosity and self-drive that will inspire them to be the best at what they do. As a result, their association with that job often ends upon the completion procedures that are defined in their daily operation code. This has been evidenced by the large number of employees in the hotel industry who often resort to apathy after attaining proficiency in their respective positions of service. As a result, I realized that employers train their staff competently, laying emphasis on both procedural and psychological aspects of their duties. Giving the example of front office agents, the author contends that instilling courage and mental fortitude in them helps them handle themselves well whenever they face clients. This takes away all instances of intimidation. It also gives them appropriate methods with which they can approach and handle clients in order to avoid agitating them or putting them under undue stress.

Hospitality Net - Secrets Revealed: The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. Shares its Secrets to Exceptional Customer Service Through The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
In today's economic environment, employers in all industries are looking for new and creative ways to provide exceptional customer service, improve patient experience, boost employee engagement, inspire leadership, and create sustainable culture transformation.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

In this article, the managing director of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel shares the experiences and best practices they apply in their establishment in order to maintain their competitive edge in the industry. He underscores the importance of adopting creative measures with which they could provide exemplary customer service, in addition, to improving engagement of the employees, inspiring leadership, establishing sustainable conversion of culture and improving the experience that patients have. In order to share their expertise with other interested persons, they established a training facility that specializes in offering leadership courses. I was able to note that they admit people from different areas of specialty, including the automotive industry, health sector, transport, energy, legal practitioners, technology experts, insurance, fitness specialists, hospitality, finance and human resource managers. All these persons have benefitted from the courses and advisory services that they offer. The courses have been attractive to all these persons because the Ritz-Carlton has maintained a steady growth in its business ventures, in spite of the evident decline experienced in the customer service industry. They have continued to offer exceptional levels of customer service to their clientele, a feat that can only be achieved with the presence of an expertly trained and highly motivated workforce, who discharges their duties as a personal obligation towards the realization of the collective aspirations of the company.

Hospitality Net - Five Destinations That Are Changing the Meaning of "Green City"

Hospitality Net - Five Destinations That Are Changing the Meaning of "Green City" | Hospitality Industry | Scoop.it
With Earth Day approaching, many Americans will take the opportunity to appreciate nature and the great outdoors. America's national and state parks offer outdoor spectacles like no other, but several major cities around the world that have embraced urban flora and fauna are nearly as impressive.
Somrat Saelee's insight:

It is common place that while the experience offered by natural parks is commendable, full scale conservationism is still the preserve of a few cities. I believe that this heralds a fresh collaboration between the hotels and their parent cities in a bid to promote tourism initiatives that are ecologically friendly. One of these establishments is found in Singapore. Pickering hotel has defied the challenge of dense population, due to the use of high end technological initiatives to go green. This has enabled the installation of sky gardens, motion sensors and other elements of technology to ensure this is achievable. Reservations and loyalty reward points can also be checked using an in-line app, reducing the wastage of paper. Conservation efforts in Phoenix, Arizona enable persons to experience the variety of natural phenomena in its abundance. The Arizona Grand Resort boasts of the fact that it has an organic spa, and its location allows patrons to enjoy beautiful sceneries offered by nature. San Francisco also boasts of an eco-friendly hotel, which was constructed using recyclable materials. Most of the residents in Oslo reside near a park. I find this to be sufficient justification as to why the Byporten hotel offers an entirely organic menu in a bid to reduce the use of pesticides. It also uses electricity from hydro power and wind.
