The European citizens and intellectual property: perception, awareness and behavior I OHIM

The European citizens and intellectual property: perception, awareness and behavior I OHIM | Research Capacity-Building in Africa | Scoop.it

'Intellectual property has never been so present in the day to day lives of EU citizens. IP rights cover everything from the food that people eat, to the clothes they wear. And through the explosion in digital content and online technology, we are now closer to IP than ever before.

“European Citizens and Intellectual Property” is the first EU wide study of its kind. It provides a comprehensive assessment of citizens’ perceptions of Intellectual Property (IP) and its infringements, both from a qualitative and quantitative point of view.

The study is underpinned by a survey of 26,500 people aged 15 and over and it aims to provide independent and reliable data and serve as a baseline for future actions and policy-making.'

Intellectual Property Guide - IP made simple

Intellectual Property Guide - IP made simple | Research Capacity-Building in Africa | Scoop.it

IP stands for Intellectual Property. It’s the term used to describe things your business owns that can’t be physically measured. In most cases, you will have created them ‘in-house’, using know-how, effort and time (otherwise known as blood, sweat and tears). Some types of IP have special protection in law, but all IP adds value to your business. If you offer anything distinctive, you will undoubtedly own IP of some sort.
