7 Powerful Ways Stories Connect You with Your Customers

7 Powerful Ways Stories Connect You with Your Customers | Reputación Profesional | Scoop.it
I was visiting a company the other day and chatting about stories. I mentioned how tough it is for any business to gather their customer stories and the two principles snorted, threw their hands up while rolling their eyes, and said, “That’s for sure! We’ve tried it.” So this blog post is all about how …

Wanda J. Barreto's insight:

Why Content and Social Media Marketing are the New SEO

Why Content and Social Media Marketing are the New SEO | Reputación Profesional | Scoop.it

It's s a myth to think you can and should be manipulating search engines with back links, page keyword stuffing, duplicate content development, etc. It's old school and much of these processes are no longer relevant to Google.

Today, SEO rankings are a primarily combination of creating and sharing great content, building a web site that works for your visitor, coupled with basic on page SEO best practices we've outlined below.

Old 'set and forget - one time only' SEO is long gone.

The replacement SEO of Content Creation with careful optimisation built in is still relevant BUT much more sophisticated than it was.  This is also a tactic that works but needs something more to be as effective as it was.

Enter Social.  Sharing and Engagement are the new keys to effective SEO when combined with good quality, optimised content.  Social engagement is also a Tactic.

The element that brings all of this together is a Strategy - how to fit good website architecture to enhance and enable the best user experience (old SEO), excellent optimised content (the way forward SEO) and that vital elusive Social Engagement tactic (the icing on the cake of modern SEO) into a Strategy that will give you want you want.  Connecting these important tactics to the right outcomes to reach the targets, and goals that will bring you organisation what it needs from your digital presence is what a well designed strategy can bring.

No longer set and forget SEO but alive and responsive SEO  - amazing.

A Scientific Guide to Hashtags: How Many, Which Ones, and Where to Use Them | Social Media Today

A Scientific Guide to Hashtags: How Many, Which Ones, and Where to Use Them | Social Media Today | Reputación Profesional | Scoop.it

Internet language has evolved considerably over the past few years as social media has taken off. Hashtags are a huge part of this evolution. What once was a telephone button is now a social media phenomenon.  No wonder people are curious.

When they ask, I tell them that hashtags are a pound sign immediately followed by a keyword. They're used for categorization on social media. Yes, they can be annoying if overused. And yes, I've seen the hashtag video of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake.

Hashtags also have the potential to be truly valuable. The stats and info below make a pretty clear case that we should be understanding, using, and appreciating hashtags....

The 10 Most Influential Global Brands on LinkedIn

The 10 Most Influential Global Brands on LinkedIn | Reputación Profesional | Scoop.it

As marketing professionals, we often look to the trendsetters in the industry to understand how to improve upon our own efforts.

...Of the top 10 most influential brands globally, publishers like The Wall-Street Journal, Financial Times and Mashable make up half of the list, underscoring the value of content in engaging customers. Technology companies make up the second largest industry represented, with Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, IBM andSalesforce.com leading the way.

What do these leaders have in common, and what can you take away from their efforts and apply to your own content marketing? Three simple practices:

-  They continually update users on industry news.

-  They release new and engaging content tailored to specific audiences.

-  They add their voice to relevant conversations that their audiences care about....

24 Reasons SEO and Social Media Are Inextricably Linked

24 Reasons SEO and Social Media Are Inextricably Linked | Reputación Profesional | Scoop.it

If you were to hire a resource to help with either, most people think to hire either an SEO agency or an Social Media agency because expertise they need an expert that is specific to the area.

That’s a big mistake.

Recent Google algorithm changes underscore how SEO and social media are inextricably linked. Panda is a Google algorithm filter aimed at fighting low quality content; Penguin is one aimed at fighting web spam. Google has concluded the best match for a keyword is the one that is focused and other people follow.

7 Types of Landing Pages That Will Make Your Website Visitors Stick Like Fly Paper

7 Types of Landing Pages That Will Make Your Website Visitors Stick Like Fly Paper | Reputación Profesional | Scoop.it

As you know, landing pages are the perfect tool for getting a segment of targeted traffic to focus on one action. But most websites are severely underusing landing pages as a tool to convert everyday traffic into leads, followers, fans, and (even more engaged) customers.

Here’s the problem:Most websites have “leaks”, or areas where the most obvious next move for a visitor is to leave your website. This is not the best outcome for you, because most of the time there is still an opportunity to engage that visitor further.

The solution to this problem is a dedicated landing page for every type of traffic you generate. These landing pages will talk directly to each kind of visitor you get – whether they are coming from social media, Google, a product page, a blog post, or something else – and offer them a customized next step that will keep them engaged with your website and business....
