A good portion of Ed Miliband’s Labour Conference speech spoke to the ‘cost of living crisis’ that has spread across Scotland and the UK. He claimed to recognize the importance of falling wages, but his solutions are totally inadequate. He had no plan for wages to increase with the cost of living: no promises of a ‘living wage’, and not even a pledge that minimum wages must rise with inflation.
