There seems to be two types of Unionist.

 

1. Upper case unionists. The dyed red, white and blue in the wool committed Brit Nat, prone to the empire fetish, longing for the day when half the globe was a blood stained pink. For them, clinging to the Union gives a sense of security or importance on the world stage.

The prime minister is to use a speech in Edinburgh to launch what he calls a positive vision for the union between Scotland and the rest of the UK.

 

Yet again we have a British nationalist talking ABOUT a "positive case" for the union but never quite getting around to stating that case.
