Poll: rUK say 'Yes' boosts more powers for regions | Scottish National Party | Referendum 2014 | Scoop.it

The Scottish National Party published results of an opinion poll commissioned by the SNP and conducted by Panelbase among people in the rest of the UK - which finds that most people who have a view believe that a Yes result in the Scottish independence referendum will boost support for the regions of England gaining new powers: with an overall positive rating of +15.

Peter A Bell's insight:

Once again the British parties look to be totally out of touch with public opinion. Few people in the rest of the UK agree with claims that Scotland's independence would have a negative impact on the rest of the UK. On the contrary, even a small majority of Tories feel that there could be benefits for the regions of England .


Are the unionists ever going to get anything right?

Uncertainty revealed over EU successor state status of rUK. - Latvia's Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkevics, tells BBC that there is doubt over whether the rest of the UK would continue as an EU member after Scotland becomes independent saying,

 

"I understand that the commission and colleagues from EU legal services are also currently considering that. I think we need solid legal opinion on this."
