I would like to express my hearty and sincere thanks to you all for your stated concern that myself and my countrymen remain in the United Kingdom. I was just heading back from my job (the job where I earn under eight quid an hour for working with people with learning disabilities) and passing the local food bank when I heard the news, namely, that you were so concerned that we might leave the UK that you had all deigned to write your names on a piece of paper.

Dave has suggested that the ‘battle for hearts and minds’ is needed to persuade us useless Scots to stick with Britannia.  The Prime Minister’s outburst came after unfortunate reports that senior UK Tories believed Alistair Darling’s leadership of the No campaign was “comatose” and “useless”.

Canadian comedian Mike Myers has become the latest celebrity to come out against Scottish independence.
Peter A Bell's insight:

There is surely something seriously wrong with the BBC when a Canadian actor is quizzed about his views on Scotland's independence simply on the basis of his having used a fake Scottish accent in some of the parts he has played. It makes about as much sense as asking Simon Greenall for his views on the situation in Ukraine on the grounds that he provides the Russian-accented voice for an animated anthropomorphic meerkat in a series of TV ads.

We just about succeed in resisting the urge to write about the TOWIE star Mark Wright being paid five grand to flick a switch in Perth as the end of Western civilisation, but we thought we might actually be becoming a Daily Mail editorial, so we resisted (‘The only way is Perth’).
