The Scottish National Party has long looked to the Swedish model for inspiration. Cameron's interest in the Swedish model is more recent. And rather more surprising. On the face of it, there seems little that the Tories might learn from Sweden that would fit with their own ideology. But it would not be at all surprising to find that Cameron imagines he can "cherry-pick" elements of Sweden's successful socio-economic arrangements and use them as baubles to decorate his own socially corrosive and economically destructive policies.
