Wings over Scotland | This is our hypocrisy meter | Referendum 2014 | Scoop.it

When we started a political blog, we invested in the best equipment money could buy, because we knew we’d need to guard against double standards ourselves as well as measuring it in others. The Super HypocrisOMeter 5000 is an industrial-strength device, built to cope with the most extreme manifestations of a trait that is the stock-in-trade of all politicians. Freedom of expression? Well if you want it and it's one on your side then be prepared to defend them, you may not like what Mr Ball said, but he has every right to say it and his party should have backed him to the hilt. It is after all, the broader feeling of party followers.
