Digital-literacy teachers, school librarians in other words. I really don't care what schools end up calling us but our skills as librarians are essential in today's society and it is great to hear that some schools are adapting to ensure these librarians are seen as an important part of the school.

Libraries and City Schools Need a Closer Partnership - City Limits

Libraries and City Schools Need a Closer Partnership - City Limits | School Libraries and the importance of remaining current. | Scoop.it
“ Libraries and City Schools Need a Closer Partnership City Limits The author suggests that underutilized hours at branch libraries overlap with times when neighborhood schools could use more and better-equipped space.”
Via Karen Bonanno
Elizabeth Hutchinson's insight:
I don't think suggesting that schools use public libraries to replace school libraries is a good idea. All schools should have a school library with a qualified librarian. The idea that schools create better links with the public library is a good one. Bringing classes in to use the resources in the public library is a great idea but not at the expense of the school library. We are planning to build on our links with our public library this year.
