Protests say don’t mess with libraries – be they in London, Newcastle or in schools.

The title of this blog is Public Libraries News and even though the author tends not to cover school libraries her heart is with them as well. There are so many similarities between the two campaigns that she does sneak a story in here and there.

Advocacy for Your School Library Helps All School Libraries

Advocacy for Your School Library Helps All School Libraries | School Libraries and the importance of remaining current. | Scoop.it

A teacher librarian's story......I explain to him that it is vital that librarians shout about all the wonderful activities happening in their library. I do just that with this blog, the library website, twitter, email blasts, discussions with my principal, notices in the daily memo and articles in the school monthly newsletter. Since I became a librarian, I have used whatever media was available to advertise the library. I had to.

"“You might ask yourself how something written in 140 characters or less can be interesting and relevant to education or your pedagogical practice? Surprisingly it is often enough to get us interested in reading more by following a link, to start a conversation, or to get us thinking about something new. And that’s just by following a few people who tweet, you don’t have to tweet a peep.”"
