Onlinelib demonstrate a new realtime streaming container that is able to mux audio and video tracks in realtime, even when you view the video. This is the first demo where you have the same experience when you watch a blueray-disc at home. The demo shows a 720p stream with a switch open between english and german audio track. The video track has 2 qualities with no audiotrack, the audio track are mixed in realtime to the videotrack. This solution works on web, android and iOS. A windows 8 metro version is under development.
Onlinelib released more HLS Streamingtools, including HLS Plugin for JW Player, OSMF Strobe, native SDK for Adobe AIR Mobile and Web with full support of HLS AES Decrypting in realtime for Flash, HTML, Android Java and iOS 6 or higher. This is the first release where we see a realtime GPU AES Decrypting Shader that uses Adobe Stage3d for Decrypting AES HLS Content. Live example when you follow the url link.
With so many options of video players out there, it’s hard to choose which application will be best for you. I would suggest keeping things simple and avoiding future headaches of video player upgrades, new features, and bug fixes. Stick with an...
In other words, the system is able to overlay on top of On-air video any Web page or Web application respecting the transparency values (alpha channel) defined therein.

This proposal extends HTMLMediaElement to enable playback of protected content. The proposed API supports use cases ranging from simple clear key decryption to high value video (given an appropriate user agent implementation). License/key exchange is controlled by the application, facilitating the development of robust playback applications supporting a range of content decryption and protection technologies. No "DRM" is added to the HTML5 specification, and only simple clear key decryption is required as a common baseline.
This decoder is a straightforward translation of libvpx and libnestegg viaemscripten, making extensive use of the scaffolding built for Broadway. Some serious correctness bugs remain, and speed leaves something to bedesired. So far, the code has only been tested on Firefox 7.

Vienna-based Stryme and Paris-based Vitec Multimedia have merged their Genesix (Stryme) optimized, easy-to-use workflows with the efficient ProxSys (Vitec) media asset management system to create a fully integrated product, writes David Fox.

Onlinelib, the german leader in HLS Streaming Solutions updates their HLS Streaming Solution sides. Onlinelib offers now HLS Playback Plugin for Adobe Flash OSMF and Media-Strobe Playback, an HLS SDK for Desktop and Mobile (Android). Coming in August Onlinelib will ship the first HLS Streaming Analyzer Hardware which is based on Texas Instrument DSP and ARM Dual Core.
For most players, simply enabling OSMF's default Dynamic Streaming is sufficient. For some players, customizing the HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) adaptive bitrate algorithm may be desired, but note that this is an advanced task.
Below is a representation of the customizable areas of the adaptive bitrate algorithm. The rest of this article describes the various levels of customization, in order of complexity, starting with simple parameter customization and ending with the complete replacement of the adaptive bitrate algorithm.
DASHEncoder generates the desired representations (quality/bitrate levels), fragmented MP4 files, and MPD file based on a given config file or by command line parameters respectively. Given the set of parameters the user has a wide range of possibilities for the content generation, including the variation of the segment size, bitrate, resolution, encoding settings, URL , etc., which is shown by the example of a DASHEncoder config file in the git repository of DASHEncoder.
The DASHEncoder is available as open source with the aim that other developers will join this project. The content generated by DASHEncoder is compatible with our DASHEncoder which can be used as a decoder and player respectively.
Current features and restrictions:
- Generation of video only, audio only or audio+video DASH content
- h.264 encoding based on x264: Constant and variable bitrate encoding
It would be an understatement to say this has been a tough week - both for those of us inside Adobe as well as for many of our developer community. In addition to the layoffs, you'd be forgiven for feeling as though we carpet bombed major changes to our developer products, In fact, it really was only two dramatic changes that directly affect our developer community: the end to the Flash Player plugin for mobile devices and televisions and the plan to donate Flex to the Apache open source foundation.

Kris Drey, founder of Vidcompare, recently released an excellent reference list of online video platforms (OVPs) publicly.
Until now, as far as I'm aware, finding this many reputable & relevant OVPs in one spot was not even possible outside of Vidcompare (or maybe even this Scoop.it topic) prior to now.
So I applaud Kris for sharing his list so openly, especially since such valuable information could easily be considered a vital component to the success of his own site.
Some of the platforms Kris listed are not currently included here in my curated OVP topic, so I highly recommend that you click through to read it and also visit http://vidcompare.com directly. It truly houses the most "comprehensive and robust" list of available OVPs and is the only resource, I know of, that allows you to compare various platforms side by side. It also provides stellar "deep dive" reviews of individual platforms, from guest blogger and OVP ninja Charlie Davis http://bit.ly/pYFhVd.
Thanks again everyone for all your amazing support with this topic.
