Get ready for some exceptionally bumpy mortgage market conditions in the first half of 2014 as lenders to figure out how to comply with the new qualified mortgage and other rules taking effect, beginning in January.

Look for longer processing times, more rejections on QM grounds, all complicated by likely increases in mortgage interest rates as the Federal Reserve’s “tapering” of its securities purchases begins to phase in. More contracts written on home purchases are likely to fall through, and applicants are certain to find early 2014 a more challenging marketplace than they would have encountered in 2013.

For the overall real estate market, 2014 is likely to be the first relatively “normal” year in terms of sales, inventory and price changes, since the bust in 2008.

Sellers have more confidence they’ll get fair pricing, plus millions of previously underwater owners have crossed over into positive equity status in recent quarters, giving them a shot at selling.

STUDY: Teens Leaving Facebook, Being Replaced By More Users 55 And Older | Real Estate | Scoop.it

Are Facebook users getting older on average? Very much so, according to a recent study from digital agency iStrategyLabs, which found that the number of teens (aged 13 through 17) was down 25.3 percent when compared with its 2011 report, while total users 55 and older were up 80.4 percent during the same time period.

iStrategyLabs also found that San Francisco experienced the largest growth among major metropolitan areas in the 55-plus demographic, at 148.6 percent, while Houston finished at the bottom of that list, at just 23.8 percent.

Is Jelly The Next Twitter? Use Biz Stone’s Q&A App For Business

Is Jelly The Next Twitter? Use Biz Stone’s Q&A App For Business | Real Estate | Scoop.it
Not so long ago (7 years, to be exact), this thing called Twitter came into being. When this micro-blogging tool hit the Interwebs, there were two kinds of people that were using it; those who saw the potential and experimented, and those who tried using it, but really couldn’t get the point of it. In fact, it was doubtful that even the co-founders of Twitter could even imagine how popular and important the app would be, less than a decade down the road.

I can really see how this can work for engaging with your audience - especially questions about how do I ... etc - could help to position you as an expert in your field - I've not done much with it yet though!
