Choosing the Right Floor Plan for Your Family

Choosing the Right Floor Plan for Your Family | Real Estate | Scoop.it
LiveAddison's insight:

In the initial stages of looking for a home, one aspect that is often overlooked is the floor plan. Choosing the right floor plan for your family is essential to ensuring long-term happiness with your home. By considering your lifestyle, current needs and potential future needs you can plan appropriately to choose a model for the long term.

Families come in all shapes and sizes with different needs and living styles. Some families prefer to spend time in their own bedrooms while others like spending more time together, requiring a larger living space. It’s important to take lifestyle into account and choose a floor plan that best suits your family’s lifestyle.

Beyond current needs, it is important to consider how much room your family will need in the long term. With young children, sharing rooms may not be an issue, but as your family members grow older, you’ll want to make sure you’re planning for those needs. Purchasing a home that you can grow into will ensure that you remain in your home for long term.

It is important for families to keep in mind hobbies and activities when considering a floor plan. Crafty moms might enjoy a space where they can work on their projects without being interrupted, or dad might enjoy a workspace at home in order to spend less time at the office. To avoid clutter in the living areas, a playroom is great option for households with multiple children.

While ultimately your new construction floor plan may be determined by budget as much as needs, it’s important to consider every possible scenario in order to choose the right floor plan to suit your lifestyle.

Southeast Austin Supports Local Foodies

Southeast Austin Supports Local Foodies | Real Estate | Scoop.it

Aside from being one of the biggest live music hubs in the world, Austin is also known for its obsessive foodie culture with a multitude of must-try restaurants across the city. From great fast food to elite enclaves, to trailers with kimchee fries, you’ll find whatever you’re looking for in Austin eateries.  And the "farm to table” movement that’s sweeping the country? Austin’s way ahead of that game.  As our culture becomes more and more concerned about where our food is actually coming from, many farm to table options are located right here in Southeast Austin, providing Austin foodies with local and organic sources of produce, proteins and more.

In case you aren’t familiar with Austin’s most popular organic farms, here are just a few: Agua Dulce, Boggy Creek Farm, SFC Farmer’s Market, Farm to Table and Vital Farms. The process and practices behind these farms are actually specifically tailored and customized to produce the best quality food for consumers. For instance, Agua Dulce farms is completely committed to sustainable farming practices. The farm uses an aquaponic method, called Growing Power, to raise fish and high quality organic vegetables. In Aquaponics, the fish and plants exist together in one integrated, soil-less system where the fish waste acts as a natural fertilizer for plant growth, which the plants return the favor by filtering the fish’s water. (  http://www.growingpower.org/aquaponics.htm) Agua Dulce raises fish, such as Redear Sunfish and Bluegill, as well as many types of lettuce, sprouts, basil, kale and Swiss Chard.

These local farms are essential to the Austin food industry because they make fresh and organic food easily accessible to restaurants. Some of the popular restaurants to check out are: Eden East, Wink, Odd Duck, Hillside Farmacy, Barley Swine and Eastside Cafe. Another advantage to these farms is fresh produce for consumers. With Boggy Creek Farm and Agua Dulce located close to Southeast Austin, this ultimately makes the area a great location for attending weekly farmer’s markets.
