Identify RPS (reversed positioning sensation) in kindergarten or first grade.  Then, by simply changing the handwriting position to the position  that feels the shapes of letters from their top side, and helping these youngsters learn to write the alphabet in 40 seconds, you will find, will correct all sorts of early educatioin difficulties.  These young remediated students will consequently need no more help.

Ex-Atlanta Schools Chief Charged in Cheating Scandal: Who's looking out for our kids?? | Reading Instruction Revolution | Scoop.it

Amy Pardo's insight:

You can't blame high stakes testing for this problem, the blame belongs to the educational professionals that chose to "cheat" their students.

Lou Salza's curator insight, April 1, 2013 9:54 AM

This story now reads like a murder mystery except that it is sadly non-fiction and the vistims are the nation's school childred. Last year when this story first broke, I blogged about cheating our children by our failure to teaach them to read, our failure to focus on their learning in our classroooms--all aided and abetted by our continued misuse of test data.  Seems like a good time to reprise the blog and invite comment:
