Fernando Ortiz's insight:

This is great for teachers/professors to help them connect more with their students. As a student, majority of the web tools were introduced to me and were actually very helpful. However, not many teachers/professors know or do not prefer them; my assumptions to this is that the web tools were introduced to me by 3 out of all the past teachers I had.

Improving Reading and Writing Using iPads - EdTechReview™ (ETR) | Reading and Writing | Scoop.it
The App Store offers a variety of apps that can help improve reading and writing skills. Some of these apps are listed.
Fernando Ortiz's insight:

I see how using  Ipads can improve reading and writing skills. however, there is a con to this new way of learning. Electronics, such as, computers, Ipads, smartphones, Ipods, etc., can be distracting to students. In my area, I see little kids having these Ipads, but does not use them how they were suppose to be used. The kids download apps to play games,go on the internet, and so on. I'm not saying they can't do this, if they want to play, they can, but the matter of fact is that they were given a distraction from their own school board.

How You Can Heal Yourself Through Writing -

How You Can Heal Yourself Through Writing - | Reading and Writing | Scoop.it
Tweet Writing is simply the transference of your feelings, pain and emotions from your heart to paper. It’s a wonderful way to release the things that no longer serve you and a powerful step toward emotional healing.
Fernando Ortiz's insight:

Although it was short, this article is very interesting. It explains how venting your feelings can actually help you feel better. However, the fact that this article does not include any statistics that this is true; I assume it is a matter of opinion.

In my opinion, I think this can be true. Rather than just holding in the emotion boiling inside, you can vent through writing. It can be in a poetic way or perhaps a letter, whatever the case is, I think this is great.
