It was perhaps inevitable that Jasper Fforde, best known for his Thursday Next series of comedic fantasy novels for adults, would turn to YA literature. After all, as he told the audience assembled in the basement-level event space at Brooklyn’s Word bookstore on October 23, “I love the idea of adults being completely useless. Because generally, they are.”
