After posting a 75-month low in April, foreclosure filings increased 2 percent in May, according to RealtyTrac. The rise was primarily driven by an 11 percent increase in REOs over the month.

After a period where the banks held-off from going after delinquent loans, the dam is breaking. We are probably going to see a resurgence of foreclosures on those long-troubled loans where the banks have chosen to simply wait, rather than take the property back.
