and Family Enhancement Act June 27, 2013

Copy of Email Correspondence -

On Behalf Of Mark Hattori June 27, 2013

It is my pleasure to announce that Mr. Elden Block was the successful candidate on the

competition for the role of Statutory Director for the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement

Act. Elden has spent his 21 years as a committed Government of Alberta employee in the

service of children, youth and families, most recently serving in the capacity as a senior leader

for the North Central Alberta Child and Family Services Authority.

Elden’s experience working collaboratively with regional and provincial partners will serve us

well, specifically in his role of leading, supporting, and enhancing the legislation, policy, and

practice in Alberta’s Child Intervention sys

tem, and generally in improving outcomes for

vulnerable Albertans receiving services through Human Services and the Government of Alberta.

Elden begins his new role on July 2, 2013.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Robert Hopkins who has been acting in the

role of Statutory Director for the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act. Robert

enthusiastically stepped into the role and has provided stability and continuity for the program

during this time of transition. I look forward

to Robert’s continued contributions to the Child

Intervention system, the Ministry of Human Services, and children and families in Alberta.

Please join me in congratulating Elden and thanking Robert.

Mark Hattori

Assistant Deputy Minister
